Ottawa's core locked down as police prepare to move on protesters

The way that motor vehicle insurance works in Canada is that (with a small exception) it is the vehicle that is insured and not the driver. Thus, if the insurance is suspended on a vehicle, the driver can still drive.

The exception is "under-insured motorist protection" which does attach to the driver and provides coverage where the other driver's insurance doesn't cover the claim.

If someone from Louisiana who carries the state mandated minimum vehicle insurance slams into a Canadian bus loaded with school children and turns 20 of them into paraplegics, the parents are going to have to find some other source to recoup the damages in excess of $1,500 per child that they will be able to cover from the driver's insurance company. That is what "under-insured motorist protection" is for.
You haven't learned the trick. You just gotta put some homemade "not in commerce" tag on your car, then you don't have to have a license, insurance, or registration. Also, laws then don't apply to you.

Thank God Canada doesn't have a defund the police movement, right liberal?
One of the reasons why Canada doesn't have a "defund the police movement" is that the Canadian police don't kill anywhere near as many Canadian per year as the American police kill Americans. During 2021, and adjusted to reflect the different sizes of the national populations, American police killed 995 people and Canadian police killed [nil] people.

Doesn't make sense. Did you leave something out?
A bunch of adjectives that I could have used to describe the intelligence of the proposed "theory" which would have gotten me into trouble with the mods.

You miss the fact that their basic human rights are being removed for minor misdemeanours

You mean when they commit crimes they forfeit some rights?

OK. And....?

It makes my head hurt to try and make sense of how it works. It has to be approved, except it's already approved because 1988, but at the same time everything in the past two days didn't rely on it.
Consider it similar to the Presidential War Powers Act, where Biden could send troops to Ukraine to fight. He would have to notify congress within 48 hours
and congress would have to authorize funding within 60 days. If congress refused to fund his action, he would have to withdraw the troops, but those killed would still be dead.

You missed a couple of points.
Protest was declared illegal.
The protesters were granted time to disperse in compliance with the lawfully issued order before any further action would be taken.
The protesters had the opportunity to challenge that declaration.
The protesters declined the opportunity to challenge that declaration.
The protesters were informed what would happen if they did not comply with the lawfully issued order and granted time to disperse in compliance with the lawfully issued order before any further action would be taken.
The protesters chose not to comply with the lawfully issued order when they were in full knowledge of what would happen if they did not comply with the lawfully issued order which they had not challenged.

(Knowing what the consequences of the actions which they chose to take ) [t]hey should have decamped (unless they were willing to accept the consequences of their own actions).
Excellent post which will be totally ignored if even read.

If this particular spiel is true, then why care what Trudeau is doing or about other authoritarianism? Its all going to go away in a puff of blockchain fueled magic, right?
I think that certain countries are ahead in the game…seems to be commonwealth countries. So Canada, Australia and New Zealand seem to be testing grounds for how far these agendas can be pushed. So I obviously want the fascist swines to lose because if it works there it could happen here next…luckily there are not as many gullible liberals in the U.K. .

It wouldn’t surprise me if the whole Ukraine situation is also part of this move…times of “war” lead to greater control measures and shortages…just in time for when Covid has lapsed for a while. However in the U.K. the laws that can lead to lockdowns are still in place to be used at any time…once these laws are in place they tend to hang around…maybe like your emergency measures will ,but time will tell I guess.

All this talks reminds me of the futurists and their singularity faith
