Well, okay, so it may not be as cheap as a neighboring university or library having an insane book sale of hardcovers for like 50 cents or a buck (with paperbacks being even cheaper, but I say "**** paperback!"), but like online used bookstores are so damned amazing.

I go onto amazon, and I can get a text in great shape, or maybe in decent shape (but pretty freaking hard to find), for far less than one would expect! God, I love paying 1 cent for a text and pay the $3.99 shipping cost. I nearly cried when I grabbed a crap ton of books for so much cheaper than new.

Nerd heaven, I tells ya!

Also, I did some digging for this set of self-histories of the Woman's Suffrage Movement by Stanton, Anthony, and Gage, and the massive 6 volume set comes to a hefty price, around 120 bucks for an incomplete set.

Now, here's the interesting part. The Kindle version: Maybe like 12 bucks for the whole darn thing, depending on which version you get, I believe.

Now, if you have ever read or dug into those volumes in the flesh, they are ungodly difficult to navigate, with varying font sizes. Not only that, but each volume is borderline 900-1000 pages. So, maybe the Kindle version is not the best thing ever, but that's quite the price!

The only time I've had my identity stolen (and fraudulent charges applied to my credit card) was by purchasing a used book on Amazon.

Never again. :censored

alibris.com
biblio.com

You need to do more hunting so you can buy multiple books from one used bookstore and get a discount on the S&H.

THE best book search site I'd ever found was:

campusi.com

But, when I just logged in to check the site, and copy/paste the url, it's now called:

DealOz.com

I don't know what that means, or if it's still as good, but when it was campusi.com, it would search all the sites, including barnes&noble, alibris, amazon, ebay, and more, and find the lowest price on any given title, or ISBN.

Worth checking out, anyway.

I've bought a few books through an online store- I believe it's Pruitt's, but will check to make sure. They seem to have books that are difficult to find, plus a wide variety of books besides novels and other fictional stuff.

No love for half.com? I buy and sell there, love it.
