One in 28 US kids has a parent in prison

I guess its a lose/lose in the end.

That or society losing 50 or 60 grand in valuables stolen by these worthless junkies who go out stealin' **** to get their next fix.... *shrug*.

It's a great system, isn't it? It's not likely to change any time soon, either, except perhaps to add more junkies willing to steal to support their habits.

I find it oddly disturbing that in a depressing thread about how many kids have a parent in prison.

Many people then immediately mention drug-convictions.

Ok - what's worse. Someone being *in* prison because of drug-use, posession and being away from their children for a while.
Or that person bringing those drugs home and around their children?
