Officer who shot Philando Castile found not guilty[W:456]

Ok. I don't know if you're intentionally being obtuse or what, but as was posted several times in the thread:

1. cop asks for id
2. guy tells cop he has a gun
3. cop then says don't move
4. guy moves

Now, I'm done. We just don't see it the same way. So be it.

This is a clear description of murder. "Moving" is not a capital offense.

The video of this case didn't show what happened before he was shot. As I said, we weren't there to hear all of the evidence.

Trayvon Martin wasn't killed in self-defense. I watched the entire trial and heard everything. The jury got it right.

I read all of the evidence in the Michael Brown case. The Grand Jury got it right.

I thought the Freddie Gray cops would've been found guilty. Again, I wasn't there to hear all of the evidence, though.

The officers tried for Freddie Gray weren't guilty of any crime, why would you expect them to be found guilty?

The chain of responsibility there is such the liability is diffused to where no one person in that chain did anything wrong

In your first post concerning the video you state the below

Now your follow up posts states the below

According to the supplied narrative the first shot hit the ground; there is a visible ‘burst’ on the ground in the video where the bullet struck the pavement. The two shots however were only about 1/10 a second apart. BEFORE the officer completed his repeated/successive command, “let me see your hands” the suspect had his hands above his head BUT the officer had already fired his weapon, twice, striking the suspect once. The suspect COMPLIED with the officer’s command but was shot for complying. The officer fired both shots before he completed his second successive command, even when the suspect had his hands above his head.

PLEASE STOP LYING

The officer should NEVER be allowed to be a LE, ever again; he is a danger to the general public.

I'm not lying. The guy never had his hands above his head!

at the 24 second point in the video the driver's hands are just as high in the air as the top of the open door; don't know how you could be so disingenuous ..............

Baiting? Are you saying the "thug mom" acted like a threat? Are you saying she's untrustworthy because of some past altercation? Because the guy who did all the shooting in this case was clearly out of his mind. Did you watch the video? He was freaking out.

Blah blah blah .......................any testimony by her is trash to begin with.

Yeah, she's a thug.

Did you see the video or pics of her smoking dope in the car with her baby?

Holbritter:

Should intentional or non-intentional non-compliance with an armed officer of the law be a capital crime upon summary conviction of the officer himself? If the suspect does not comply can a cop just shoot him? where does this lead?

Cheers.

I agree. As laid out I couldn't for the life of me how anyone sees that as reasonable.

The only narrative you're open to is anytime a black person gets killed by a white person, especially a cop, he had it coming. Very Sean Hannityish.

he wasnt white

Very good news! Tilting a beer right now!

Ah yes. I always find myself drinking in celebration of the acquittal of someone who blew an innocent person away. Huzzah!

A society where young black men, while 3% of the population, are responsible for nearly 50% of the murders, and we're not allowed to talk about it?

What murders was Philando Castile responsible for?

None, because he was stopped from shooting at the cops

If he was going to shoot at the cops, do you think he would have told the cops he had a gun on him (a gun that, btw, he was carrying in a perfectly legal fashion)? Use your head. Great to see that you are apparently in favor of summarily executing any black person before they have the chance to murder someone!

When one of you guys cries about how all those mean liberals think you guys are all racist, harken back to this thread please.

Huzzah!

Too bad the clown couldn't obey orders ... huh Kobie?

Like the 55 other times he was stopped for not obeying orders. He finally ran into the perfect storm with a nervous cop.

Tough **** for him.

He "finally" ran into a bad cop, rejoice, he's black-n-dead.

so, in this instance due process was not something that would have been helpful but execution by cop was?

U so funny ................

Officer shooting a guy who was high who reached for his gun despite being told not to is a murderer. Sure.

How did you establish that the victim was "high"? what does this term mean?

Easy fix, stop breaking the damn law you won't get shot. Oh I forgot, all those blacks shot by police were outstanding citizens.

So he's got two contradictory orders. 1) Show me your ID but 2) don't move.

And the cop didn't say don't move, he said "don't reach for [the gun]."

Bottom line is once again a civilian is killed for not perfectly following arbitrary and conflicting orders by an incompetent police officer and there is no consequence for the officer's deadly incompetence. I don't believe the officer meant to kill an innocent man, but that's what happened, and that death should bear some significant price. His job is to handle situations like that without killing innocent people.
