The timeline Ocasio-Cortez referenced was likely based on a U.N. backed report. LMAO! I wonder where we get evidence that proves conservatives lack a few brain cells? :lamo
Just no. The report is about a target to limit warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius and we’ll miss it unless global greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by 45% within the next 12 years. In no way can that be interpreted to mean that the world will end. It isn’t even an attainable goal. We are not going to see that kind of transformative change on a global scale in the next 12 years. 2 degrees is a more realistic target and we’re only talking about a 0.002 degree increase per year. This is a change that needs to happen in an intelligent, incremental, and economically responsible way and we can mitigate the human impacts in the interim.
We won’t see it from Trump, but he’ll probably be gone in two years and this is much bigger than the United States. The point is, we won’t see it from an end times hysteric with potentialy unlimited terms either. It’s good to be passionate about it, but not to the extent that someone becomes a well meaning impediment to responsible progress.
