The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 30% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11
Rasmussen is biased and a GOP tool, etc.
No, it's actually the best polling organization out there, here's my evidence, etc.
It's much better to use the average of all the polls because you get a better number that way.
Those other polls use "all adults" rather than "likely voters," which results in a distorted sample.
Rasmussen is still an outlier
Not really. Zogby International
President Barack Obama's job approval rating is down to 42%, with a decline in approval from Democrats the leading factor.
The latest Zogby Interactive poll of 4,518 likely voters conducted from August 28-31 found 48% disapprove and 42% approve of the job Obama is doing.
No one else has him at that low of an approval rating.

When you average all the polls, its 51% Approve, 42% Disapprove. Rasmussen has been a consistent outlier.
Even Zogby has PBO's approval rating at 42%. Ya can't call John Zogby a Right Wing crazy.

Zogby's polls are not even used by major outlets anymore because they have been so inaccurate the last couple of years. He uses only published numbers for his telephone polls and self selected participants for his online polls.
I think its ridiculous for either side to pick and choose the polls they want. Why not just go to Real Clear Politics and look at the rolling average between all of them.
I really don't think polls are that important at this poit in time. As election season comes yeah there value goes upp
I bet when Ramussen, Gallop and Zogby were putting GB at 28%, the Libbos were hailing those numbers as the most accurate in history. Now, when things are going against their boy, it's all BS.

At the time, you had every poll out there giving him below 30% approval ratings. That's the difference.
Pretty amazing that Bush went from a high of 87% job approval rating to a low of 24% don't ya think?
Not nearly as amazing that PBO has lost 30 plus points in 7 months and losing more, everyday.
PBO's going to need a 9/11 to ever see an accent in his poll numbers.

And another conservative sites Rasmussen. Why am I not surprised.

I'm just curious, when did you tell us so?
And what exactly did you tell us; that Obama's approval rating would drop below its election-night high?
Is this actually breaking news? Because it seems to me that simple logic would dictate that the President's approval rating would fluctuate throughout the course of his term. Sometimes it goes down; sometimes it goes up; sometimes it just sits and hovers somewhere for awhile. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
Did someone insist to you that it was going to stay at 65% (or whatever it was) for all time and eternity?
I was merely implying that there were those of us who saw through the media hype pre-election. Not all of us were convinced that PBO was the savior of the free world.
Y'know, I don't recall anyone in the mainstream media ever advocating that "Obama is the savior of the free world." I don't even think that was ever implied. Such drivel certainly never came from the Obama campaign.
Perhaps your inference meter is glitchy.
Perhaps...not so glitchy though as to be sucked in by all the hype and think that the government was going to fix all my problems.
