Opinion pieces are of little value as a source.
You couldn't help yourself, could ya? I explicitly stated:
What you fail to acknowledge is the size of the GDP, population growth, and unemployment rates in socialist countries. Why would anyone want that here?
Why are you asking me, already stated that i do not advocate that model nor believe it is capable of working here in the U.S. Do you understand how/why the bold is a fallacy?
Super Erod, now with the ability to leap logic in a single bound, fast enough to not let any information actually catch up with him, flying at the speed of RNC talking points...How about we get the other half of the country to pay any federal payroll taxes whatsoever? There's a start for your side of the debate.
you have a problem with the dictionary definition? you still havent answered the question yet...why the outrage against one but not the other?
Wow, you're a winner dude, lol.Civilized Society? Civilized society supports socialized Medicine? Name for me a successful socialist country in the world? What is it about liberalism that creates such loyalty in the face of failures all over the world. I call that arrogance or stupidity.
Are you sure that isn't what Obama is trying to do here? What is it that obama is implementing that isn't part of the European model? Higher taxes, more govt. control and responsibility, socialized medicine, expansion of social safety net?

You get trounced on a topic and just switch over to another talking point. How sad and predictable... all at once.

Here is something Obama is trying to implement (and it is part of the euromodel); the end of obesity! The size of some of my "fellow Americans" is not as embarrassing as it is a strain on the long term sustainability of our health care system.
Ok sure:
People's Republic of China
Denmark
Finland
Norway
Sweden.
Wow, you're a winner dude, lol.
Socialized medicine: all doctors and hospitals are government owned and are government employees. The government produces and distributes medicine or buys medicine and distributes it.
ObamaCare: Pay a fine unless you buy a healthcare plan from BlueCross or another provider, which are entirely private companies that are in no way owned by the government, that allow you to receive care from private practice and privately owned doctor's and hospitals, that are in no way owned by the government.
That's how far off you are in fairytale land dude. If this were a test you'd have to be graded incomplete because they just haven't figured out a grade for someone that spent the entire three hours trying to bubble his name into the scantron sheet and was still only half way there.
Great, next we will get scales put in every house and the federal weight monitors that go around weighing people. Is that what you were taught the role of the Federal govt. was?

Is that how you became semi retired at age 27 promoting massive growth and overreach by the Federal Govt? Where does it stop in your world?
Goldenboy219;1059794465]How on earth did you get the quote above from:
No.
I built an industrial protective coatings company and sold it. How was your question relevant?
You know oil and gas, hedge funds, and people with individual income over 200K don't really come to mind when I think "who should get a tax break with the amount of federal debt that exists." Don't get me wrong, I don't like taxes, but the simple fact is that to cut the debt we need BOTH spending cuts AND tax increases, there's no way around it.
you raised the issue of Obesity so how do you enforce those standards without putting scales in everyone's home and then have the scale monitors.
Simple: increase taxes on junk food.
Where does it stop? Why single out junk food. That isn't the Federal Government's role. Why not outlaw junk food? sounds to me like a revenue grab to me.

So I assume you were against Perry raising taxes on cigarettes, correrct?
Correct, if it is that harmful make it illegal.
LOL, what a reactionary proposition.
Lot's o' things that are harmful are perfectly legal.

We weren't talking costs dude. Stay on topic for more than one post, lol. You called it socialized medicine. I showed you it wasn't, and then you start bitching that I have no idea how much it will cost? I'd say I have a better idea than you simply because you have no ****ing clue what it even is. Once you can wrap your head around the fact that Obama didn't socialize the entire medical sector we can start on the rest of your childish arguments. How do you know what Obamacare will cost or do? Have you followed the costs of the MA plan and the shortage of doctors thus the drain on the ER services? Do you ever do any research to verify what you are being told. Let me know a successful liberal social program that cost what it was supposed to do, did what it was supposed to do, solved a problem, and then went away? All I see is another group of arrogant liberals who blamed the previous group of arrogant liberals for not spending enough money in the right areas.
Obesity is surely harmful (to oneself and society). Should it be made illegal?
