Call me a trend setter, but I was bashing the idiot before it was cool.

Wait, I thought he was our messiah. Can you guys make up our minds for us?
No - just another false prophet.

I tend to agree though with the article but really... some of us knew he was a failure before he even won. Sure it's easy to weekend quarterback and say I told you so - but jezus who's going to save us from Obama's abortion policies? Will it even be possible to save it and if so - at what cost? 8 years of spending by Bush and a double down in the first year by Obama and more to come. NOW people are waking up with the cringe worthy regret from post coitus election fun, to the worst puke induced hangover, stuck with Obama and his geeky cronies.

I'll make up your mind for you. Keep sticking your finger down your throat while praying this is all a bad dream and swear off mixing "HOPE" and "CHANGE" for as long as you live.

Did anyone actually read and understand this article? The first thing the author writes after the head line is "Europe still worships him and Washington's Obamatrons remain smitten, but former supporters are turning on the President, writes Toby Harnden." Ah so he immediately contradicts his own head line but still mentions that some supporters are moving away from the President, fair enough but who are they? Well he says "Polls show that around 10 per cent of those who voted for Obama in 2008 now disapprove of his performance." Wow 10% loss is "abandon" I'd probably use that word in more drastic situations...

Its a funny article about some Obama personality quirks, but anyone who wants to use the head line as a "victory" banner should rethink their logic...

It just amazes me that the hate for a guy who's done very little against the last president who trashed the economy, started a war on false pretenses that cost the lives of over 4000 American Soldiers... yeah no outrage over that eh

The economy crashed under a Democrat congress, they control the purse strings, you lose.

No, Bush did have some key problems in his administration, all presidents do. The fact is that Congress sets a budget and fiscal policy, if a president does have fiscal legislation passed the effects normally play out over a decade, congressional budgets affect the economy in the short term since they are immediate. This in no way absolves Obama of gross and complete incompetence.

Yeah, that same President who's continuing the war started on false pretenses and endorses the cost of 4,000 American soldier while spending us into oblivion. You can bet the farm I won't be one of the aimless robots fist bumping around town. I'm sure you'll wake up eventually.

yeah.... beginning with the fact that he was president of the united states. took 8 years to solve THAT problem.

so that nattering nabobs of negativism think m. Obama insufficiently bombastic? we did not hire an actor this time, we hired an administrator. sure. there are things that serious liberals (like me) are not happy with. that he does not lose his temper and fume impotently is not one of them.

he should go after BP with a stick. I think he will... once the oil stops flowing into the gulf. first things first. fix the problem, THEN place blame.

I was under the impression we lived in a state where the economy wasn't under total control of the goverment... I think its unfair to totally blame the Congress for the economy when the private sector controls so much more.

Because people were fat and happy under Bush... Obama came in and promised 'hope and change'... he didn't say the full sentance : "I promise that by the time I'm done, you'll have lost hope and will be lucky if left with change in your pockets."

Now, to pro-Obama people, understand why so many people ARE ALREADY upset with Obama... from the moment he was elected, the people quickly realized their folly... 'meet the new boss same as the old boss.' Obama didn't come up with new policies... he took the Bush doctrine and made the challenge... " I could triple that in a year." ... He got a peace prize working that angle.

But, the people are waking up to the fact that presidents and prime ministers are little better then a public face for private interests.

That is a lame-ass copout. Freakin' Right and Left are ALWAYS pointing the damn finger at eachother like children. More and more do we lose the right to be a super power. More and more our "leaders" are like children.

And Bush blew the spending balloon MUCH larger than it was. Plus the dumb-ass got us into the right war in the wrong damn COUNTRY!!!

People need to realize there are crappy "leaders" on BOTH sides of the aisle.

The people are waking up... It's much worse then you say though, I mean, these people build or run large corporations, then campaign for office, as millionaires, the win... and because they do so many favors to all the friends they had made in their corporate lives leave office with hundreds of millions of dollars, only to return to the corporate sector to land an even bigger job with the same corporations they left in the first place.

The political system as it stands now is essentially a cesspit of corruption, with VERY FEW members with actual integrity... probably 3-4 congressmen regardless of stripe.

As a relevant aside I would point to ... the debate about Rand Paul's smearing and how this is somehow boosting his support according to most polling numbers.

That's why I cringe when I hear people call Obama a marxist.... when his main program is of creating socialized public-private-partnerships.... which is much more a definition of fascism then socialism anyway. Don't hate me on that...I'm not saying Obama = Hitler, nothing like that... just that this types of partnerships, creating government controls over all the important private contracts is by definition fascism, or if you prefer :
www.dictionary.com said:
Fascism : 1.a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.
I'm sure it might even be possible that Obama would be the first historical benevolant dictator in world history if the government would become FULLY fascist, which if anything, 100million gun owners are standing in the way of that happening (whether they know it or not).

So yes, ultimately I agree with your sentiment, the economy is as it is because of drastic and (seemingly) coordinated efforts of Congress, the white house and the private sector...

As if it weren't going to crash under a republican Congress?

Congress spends the money and it makes fiscal law. There is no question they are culpable in whole for any damage they have done.

That is a lame-ass copout. Freakin' Right and Left are ALWAYS pointing the damn finger at eachother like children. More and more do we lose the right to be a super power. More and more our "leaders" are like children.
I was pointing out the incorrect part of a very specific post.

And Bush blew the spending balloon MUCH larger than it was. Plus the dumb-ass got us into the right war in the wrong damn COUNTRY!!!
First off, Obama and this congress have committed at least triple the ill-advised Bush spending, so it is at least 3 times as dumb. Secondly, the Iraq war was gonna happen, we bailed out the U.N. for something they let fester, you are more than welcome to question the timing, but that was going to happen.

People need to realize there are crappy "leaders" on BOTH sides of the aisle.
And again, you are trying to lecture me for correcting a post and using the past to do it. The FACT is that nothing has changed with Obama except the pace of stupidity.

Don't know for sure, can't really but this congress did everything in it's power to overreact and legislate the situation into a catastrophe.

Hmmm, assume much? Problems existed under the surface, this thing has been bubbling for at least a century, the root cause of this recession being one that was created in the '70s. But if one pays attention to the methods applied with this particular congress we are in an overmanaged economy and any wrong moves will make a blip a problem, this congress made the wrong move. Thanks for playing.
