Obama Instructs Journalists On How To Report His Positions | RealClearPolitics

"This bears on your reporting," President Obama said to journalists. "I think that there is oftentimes the impulse to suggest that if the two parties are disagreeing then they're equally at fault and the truth lies somewhere in the middle. And an equivalence is presented which I think reinforces peoples' cynicism about Washington in general. This is not one of those situations where there's an equivalency."

"As all of you are doing your reporting, I think it's important to remember that the positions that I am taking now on the budget and a host of other issues. if we had been having this discussion 20 years ago or even 15 years ago … would've been considered squarely centrist positions," Obama said a few moments later.

Following his instructions for the Supreme Court and quick crawfishing away from them? Well this constitutional scholar guy is a real piece of work.

We're seeing the real Obama now. Raw sewage.

This has got to be one of the most asinine topics I've ever seen on debatepolitics. The validity and basis of it speaks for itself, just read the quotation.

Seriously, since when is pointing out dissatisfaction with the way the media reports news now instructing reporters on how to report? Do I need to point out the hundreds and perhaps thousands of topics of people, politicians and members alike, both complaining about how the media reports? Perhaps directly talking to them in how to report? I would but again it speaks for itself.

Or I did to analyze the easier understand but deliberately misinterpreted language in the quotation? Anybody with any sense of the language and lack of bias would understand that.

You two are some sad sad people.

Obama is cracking up. He's telling people what to write, what decisions to make as judges. I can understand a true believer not enjoying the process going on, but it has to be this way to expose the fraud that is sitting in the White House. That's not our fault.

You're stupidity makes me angry

Obvious in your ability to reason, is the fact that you are in a position to debase a scholar. I am confident you have an intellect far superior to our President, and thus have credibility when commenting.

(Yes...that was sarcasm, in case you fail to grasp that as well)

Obama is not as smart as his supporters keep telling us he is. As the old saying goes, "don't piss on our shoes and tell us it's raining".

First year law students are laughing at the ignorance of this President regarding constitutional law.

Obama knows the media is on his side and his publicly nudging them to report on an issue the way he wants them to is indicative of his melt down over the coming ruling of the supremes which will invalidate obama care.

My post was less a comment on the abilities of our President, than an observation of the negativity directed at his intellect by someone very likely inferior in this regard. Much as I tend to avoid debates concerning areas of unfamiliarity, I was compelled to point out the irony of an individual who seemingly lacks intellectually, debasing someone who literally exudes competence.

Liberals are shaking their heads at this President and telling him to shut up. The more he talks, the more he shows his ignorance of constitutional law as well as how the world works. He's an academic fraud.

Be specific. Who is telling him to shut up? Give me a partial list.

Holy misleading headline! Did any one actually watch the video or read the quote? Because he never told reporters how to report. Not even a little bit. He talked how reporters report a disagreement as two equal sides, but that is not telling reporters how to report. He talked about how what used to be republican free market solutions are, now that democrats are accepting them, being portrayed as socialism, but that is not telling any one how to report. He talked about the republican party shifting to the right, but that is not telling any one how to report.

I love watching people jump on the bandwagon when they have clearly not even looked at the source.

Hey look, Neal posting a link to a right wing site, and specifically to a right wing opinion piece. How unusual. Here is an odd thought: why not get your news from people not telling you what to think.

I do it just to watch you get pissed off. Thanks for making my day.

Where does one go for that? Truth is truth. I recognize it on left and right wing web sites. The piece is pretty good. He didn't make any outlandish or exaggerated claims.

Amused != pissed.

Yup. Isn't this what your pals do....."Why are you so angry?" Well acquainted with all the phrases used to incite and deflect. Well acquainted.

I think HE thinks that's absolutely appropriate. He's not cracking up - he KNOWS that the media is in the bag for him. Instructing them on how to cover his comments is using common sense. He knows the media is a tool to be used so he's using it. With the exception of Fox... and talk radio... and a few publications...

I can understand a true believer not enjoying the process going on, but it has to be this way to expose the fraud that is sitting in the White House. That's not our fault.
That's really the issue isn't it? Only wonks like us who discuss politics all day really have an interest to see enough information to discern wheat from chaff and depending on the political lean and motivation may consciously pull one way or the other while knowing full well the opposite is true. But the fraud in the White House, as you put it, has both the bully pulpit and most of the mass media in this country willing, able and loyal to his re-election, and public defense on both television, papers, and magazines. The one place they do not have the advantage is talk radio... So it's a huge uphill battle to prove to the common man, the "non-wonk" that Obama's a failure when so many are working to misinform the general public, or at the very least, cast serious doubt that such a failure is true.

So, one person in one magazine. Next.

Obama is in over his head. It' showing and he's obviously flustered and feels the pressure. If Obamacare gets struck down, then all the American people have to show for his 3 years is a waste of time and tons of money.

Editorials never tell the full story, and by definition present it in a biased way, and if you cannot find sources of noneditorialized news from way partisan websites, you should probably give up on the internets.

AS I have pointed out to you in the past, you have no ****ing clue who my pals are. PROTIP: people are responsible for their own words, not random other people's words.

I will entirely just let the irony in your post go, but I did laugh.
