I'm not sure anybody in this country, left or right, can handle the issue of race.

That is an excellent point you make 88.....that's why I asked. Because to get into such discussions with those overseas on the issue of Race. Isn't like how they deal with it here back at home.

Many many other countries in the world are more racially homogeneous than we are. If you want to be an American, you just have to accept a basic ideology. It's impossible to actually become "Chinese" or "Ethiopian," or even "German." I think back to coming home with my kids and there was a black guy on our flight from Moscow to Atlanta. They were fascinated with him, and I think it's very possible that out in Nizhny Novgorod, they had never encountered a black person before. To their credit, my kids are about as non-racist as you can be now.

Basically, we just don't think of race in the same way.

So now that you got that off your chest.....what do you have to say about why the Washington Post brought it out? Were you able to pick up anything.....something, from the issue as to why N Korea does this?

You are aware they are our enemy Right? Do you ever pick up those actual threats they make to us? Know about them.....the threats?

Now.....are you able to figure out why someone's enemy can talk **** about them when no one will talk **** back to them? Oh and the Leader of N Korea didn't say any of this. So that should lessen some of that amazement you felt over a US President.....and in the case. Not Just BO.....but other Presidents to that have been disrespected like this by N Korea.

Personally I think Obama deserves most of the criticism that he gets, however the North Korean rant is quite racist. But then so are the comments by progressives in this country when they label conservative African Americans as "uncle toms", "race traitors", and "oreo cookies", etc. And many of those same progressives who labeled George W Bush as a chimp for 8 years suddenly scream racism when someone refers to Obama as a chimp.

What I find offensive is when some people feign or actually are ignorant of the difference between a caricature and a long established racial stereotype.

A caricature is a rendered image showing the features of its subject in a simplified or exaggerated way.

In literature, a caricature is a description of a person using exaggeration of some characteristics and oversimplification of others.

These are caricatures.

These are racist.

It's not a double standard. It's recognizing the social aspects of a social construct. Racists like to ignore the social aspects of racism because then they can claim (like crying little cowards) that a black person not liking them is the same as living with oppression every day of ones life.

But an insignificant black person not liking a white is not the same as daily oppression for a lifetime, is it? No, it's not. Racists are dishonest scumbags. And then there are the ignorant people who simply cannot grasp this.

It's all in how you intend the insult. Any suggestion that it's okay to use the term "ape" or "chimp" against one race but not another is in itself racist. Such a suggestion assumes that everyone on the planet harbors the same bigotry that those in the segregation and slavery era in the south did. That is not the case. You do not get to choose anyone elses intent in using the word "chimp" as an insult. I find it equally offensive no matter who it's directed at.

I am not all that familiar with Jay-Z and do not follow what he is up to or what he is wearing. My suggestion to you is to stop living in the past. Slavery is long gone and the segregation era ended a few decades ago. While there are still many African Americans around who are old enough to remember the racial oppression of the segregation era, it is not a part of their lives today. I believe in the Martin Luther King's wish that all men should be judged by the content of their character, not the color of their skin.
