Since we've become super sensitive to everything associated with race, even to the point of dumping Aunt Jemima products, let's talk about the nearly 30 year-old Nirvana song "Smells Like Teen Spirit."

I heard this song recently on the radio and decided to look up the lyrics. Weird Al Yankovic was absolutely right in his parody - the lyrics can't be figured out and there's no conveyed message. But 1 lyric in the chorus stood out when Kurt Cobain sings "a mulatto, an albino". A mulatto is someone with white and black ancestry. An albino is a person lacking pigment in the hair or skin causing abnormal whiteness.

With this in mind, all radio stations and internet sources should completely ban this song from being listened to and downloaded. At the very least they should edit these 2 words because they are bigoted, discriminatory and insensitive to people with exceptionally white skin and people of mixed race.

Let's get this stupid and contagious song censored or removed once and for all. After that we need to go through every song recorded in the last 100 years and either edit or ban all of them which mention anything about race or skin color. Let political correctness be the rule of the land!

Crappy sarcasm.
Troll harder.

I’ve a friend of mixed ancestry - her dad’s black and her mom is white. She finds the term mulatto to be very offensive.

However being offensive does not make something racist.

Emo grungy nazis sitting in a soiled rooms and listening to CDs on boomboxes are totally bummed out.

I guess this one would be banned too:

So begins the cascade of white victimhood.

There is no racism in that song. Cobain even in his current state would be a better president than the racist orange fool.

The meaning of “Smells like teen Spirit” has been interpreted a lot over the years, but the notion of it being racist for containing two specific words is ludicrous.

The song is incoherent and vague in what it means And what it wants to convey, which is similar to the emotions and conflicts expressed by teenager growing up in the 90s. This song represented the angst and emotional conflict of a generation of young Americans at the time and that is what made the song so popular.

I'm donating this dollar for you to buy a sense of humor.

You are free to tear half the dollar bill I gave to Grand Mal and purchase a partial sense of humor at the very least.

No, problem is I have a sense of humour.
And by my spelling of 'humour' you could probably guess that your money's no good here.

Why waste the time "going through all the rock songs of the past 60 years", when we ALREADY have evidence that ALL of them are racist!

1. Rock was originally based in blues(ie. an original black musical genre), but most is played by WHITE PEOPLE. Clearly thats "cultural appropriation"! In other words(using modern BLM style progressive logic) ALL rock is based on a STOLEN GENRE!

2. Most rock is white. Its not diverse enough! That makes it racist!

3. Since there are "some" culturally inappropriate" lyrics in a very small percentage of songs, according to modern progressive "guilt by association" and "all white people share collective guilt" 'logic', IT'S ALL BAD!!

So get those figurative, and maybe even literal progressive book burners warmed up, and lets BURN IT ALL!!

The most ridiculous aspect of the Aunt Jemima "issue", is that if it was called "Granny Gertrude" brand pancake syrup with a white lady on the label, progressives would probably complain that "theres no pancake syrup brands with black women on the labels", and demand that Granny Gertrude brand syrup be "cancelled", or that the company change the label and name to that of a black woman! Left wing activists are 100% purely nihilistic, and therefore NEVER satisfied, until everything is a smoldering ruin!

*LOL* I never even knew that song had lyrics.... I sure as hell couldn't make out anything Cobain was mumbling into the microphone. I always kinda put it into the same category as "Louie Louie" - the lyrics can be whatever you think they are.

Yeah the song never made sense and I think it was intended to be that way.

My reaction to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" or most of Nirvana's other songs is the same now as it was in the 1990s:
well whatever, nevermind! :)

It's funny now that I think about it... my youngest brother was a big Nirvana fan and I never had the time for them - so naturally we used to have knockdown dragout arguments - but at the time he was a teenage rebel and I was an army hardass. *L* Now he's a hardass cop and I'm the anti-establishment rebel living out in the bush. Comes around, goes around.

Many think the word comes from "mule" as in half horse and half donkey, but it's not sure that is the real etymology because there is another similar base word meaning brought up

Either way, it was often used derisively against mixed-race people and is probably better avoided unless especially appropriate to a situation
