BArt Scott is a Jet ($40 million), Haynesworth and DeAngelo Hall are with the 'skins (100 and 54 million respectively,) Fred Taylor and Chris Baker are now Patriots (I don't know what there contracts are yet) And the Vikings have traded for Sage Rosenfels! (I don't know the specifics of that trade yet either)

My beloved Bears need a WR, a Safety and tons of o-line help, so I hope they go after Housh, Coles, or even Nate Washington at WR, Jermaine Philips or Brian Dawkins at Safety, and they MUST, must must must sign a tackle like Khalif Barnes.

Ahhh....Free Agent Super Bowl Champs again.

Which means Haynesworth should likely break his arm 3 games in and Hall will get caught fighting cats out of his basement.

I really question the amount they spent on a guy who's never played a full season without injury and a corner who can't play man 2 man, but what're you gonna do.

You do realize that Albert Haynesworth is one of the best dt's in the NFL and Hall played outstanding for them this past year.

The real question, is when Brett Favre un-retires again, who will he play for? :2razz:

Haynesworth is a man amongst boys.......in contract years.

What happened in all those other years is what I would be most worried about.

He may get real fat and content with that kind of money.

Yes. I realize he had a phenomenal season in a contract year. And when he is playing, he's dominant as hell. But a 27 year old that has been on the shelf at some point in almost every season of his career is pretty risky.

$100 million over 7 seasons... too much.

Warner and TJ Whosyourmamma would make this team competitive from the start. Tim Tebow, whom i believe can change the way QB is played, will be available at the end of round 1 next year baring injury. A all pro WR gives us the edge in acquiring another QB in FA if we forgo drafting a QB of the future in 2010.

To bad owners can not be traded. Jerry Jones sucks.

Tim Tebow won't be a starting QB in the NFL. Oh he might start for a little while, but its one thing to run over 225lb MLBs and another thing to run into the walls known as Urlacher, or Ray Lewis. Along with alot of 3-4 LBs who used to be DEs in college. Tebow isn't a great passer, and won't succeed as a QB.

They picked up Frank Omiyale? WTF? He'll probably play right tackle but can play both. 11.5 to 14 million for four years.

They nee do-line help more than they need a QB. Orton was great before his ankle injury, which threw off his mechanics. And let's not forget, he had the worst wide-out group in the history of the NFL out there. I'm not throwing him under the bus just yet. We Bears fans need to hold back on throwing the QB under the bus. We've got too much of a hair trigger with that.

Give Orton one more year, but draft a QB if one slides (like how Rogers did for the Packers).

I agree with Crippler on Tebow. I think he's gonna suck in the NFL.

No, Al Davis sucks.

I am hoping that the Cowboys can land Ray Lewis. Though if he wants Haynesworth money/years then hell no.

That is kind of funny though. The more money the Redskins waste, the better I feel.

I doubt Ray's gonna try for a 7 year deal at his age. My guess is three years $40 million.

That's why Tebow needs to go to Chicago

Not a great passer or not, they'll still remember the epicness of old Sexy Rexy and Tebow will look like ****ing Montana compared to that memory.

I think Orton will be fine. He had a major adjustment to make coming to the NFL, from Purdue. He played in a shotgun exclusive system under Joe Tiller and his "Basketball on grass" offense. Its alot different when you have to drop back in the pocket. So he's had a few years now to get it down. Give him some decent blocking and I think he'll be fine. He's not a mobile enough guy to make up for a porous line.

Exactly. He definitely needs to work on the deep ball though. His intermediate passes are great, though.

But they'll also need a true #1 wideout to have any chance of competing this year.

Well I can tell you Michael Crabtree's off the table.

Now that it's known he has leg problems which require surgery, there is no way he'll get past Oakland's pick. Goddamn I can read Al like a book.

Anyway, it's pretty hard to have no chance when you're in the NFC North. You have to be real good at sucking to be out of it in that division.

My team needs an owner. If we could only play paper football...

I don't care what the ESPN analysts say, if Indy listened to them, they would have drafted Ryan Leaf no.1. Tebow's leadership, athletic ability, and arm strength (find him make a bad throw against the best teams) make him an intriguing prospect, which he could be had in the 2nd round next year unless he goes absolutely ape **** and wins another national title.

Tuck and Cripp, you are aware that Tebow is just as strong/athletic as Urlacher or Lewis from a combine perspective.

So was Mike Vick, so was Vince Young. How're their careers going?

One's goes to jail, gets replaced by a rookie and that rookie goes one to have a better season that the jailbird ever had with the same receivers!

The other was benched for... 36 year old journeyman Kerry Collins?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

Practically every year there is some QB who's going to "redefine the position"...

But somehow it always seems to be guys like Manning, Brady, Warner, Roethlisberger etc, end up at the top of the heap and wearing the jewelery.

My take: Traditional QB > "revolutionary" QB

Now, I might be wrong, and this guy's the second coming of Steve Young, but I don't really think the Bears, as a franchise, can flip the coin on a guy who fits the mold of players who have failed to find success at the next level.

Plus do they really want to draft another gator?!?

In Urban Meyers offense, Tebow doesn't have to throw the ball more than 10 yards down the field. I think Tebow is a gifted athlete, and a good guy. He's a great leader at the collegiate level, but his physical tool set may be a better fit at a different position in the NFL. Some guys that are freak athletes in college can get away with playing QB. But you have to be a QB more than an athlete, to play QB in the NFL. Plus, unless Tebow is going to sneak it up the gut, he usually lines up in shotgun. This is a problem for guys coming to the NFL out of college systems that run shotgun offenses. You have to be developed as a drop back passer to make it in the league. Some guys can make the transition, but it usually takes time. Alex Smith isn't the athletic monster that Tebow is, but he went crazy in Urban Meyers offense at Utah and is a Ryan Leaf like bust. He couldn't adjust to drop back passing.

And regarding Tebow vs. Urlacher and stuff. There are plenty of guys that can match Urlacher and Lewis on combine numbers. The difference between getting hit by college LBs and NFL LBs is tremendous, due to the speed of the game. Rothelesberger is a huge guy as big as Tebow, and he gets the **** knocked out of him all the time. Its not just the LBs, but the DL as well, they are just that much bigger and faster than they are at college and if Tebow thinks he's going to be running people over on a QB draw, he's got another thing coming.

I don't hate Tebow, and I'd gladly eat my words if he became even a solid QB at the next level. I just don't see it.

Exactly how I feel about it.

I hope he gets the living **** knocked out of him on his first play.

I also hope the team who covered the BCS title game is there and sees their true love get splattered. That would be sweet.
