Re: Nfl 2014/15[W:117, 134, 348]

Only 1 sack this week, and Buf only got 2?

Buffalo's not going to blitz nearly as much this year under Schwartz as they did last year under Pettine.

The Bills' sack total was rather inflated last season because Pettine would sell out and just bring the house far too often. Sure, it got them 57 sacks, but they also got gashed quite often on draw plays and quick screens because defenders overcommited.

Yes, some, including myself thought the Bills would get more, but the game plan wasn't about sacks, it was about pressure, and contain (Although Forte did as he pleased all day) according to Schwartz.

Regarding sacks, it appears the table has turned. Phins had 4 this week.

Forte scored FF points as projected. Peterson got half his; McCoy and Lacy layed eggs.

Watching the game in Detroit. Is it me, or does the stadium look dark?

Oh dear, worst QB of the first round goes to Eli Manning. He is awful tonight.

He's still one pick shy of Tony Oh No.

Maybe, but Tony Oh No was playing the SF 49'rs a defense that I hold in higher regard than the Lions.

Re: Nfl 2014/15[W:117, 134, 348]

For me, this one is easy. The Texans were called for a roughing hit on Rg3 near the goal line on a 3rd down play giving them a first down. reviews show that hit was perfect.

There were two roughing the passer calls in that game that were just ridiculous bull****, one by the Texans and one by the Redskins. Both looked like picture perfect legal tackles.

Re: Nfl 2014/15[W:117, 134, 348]

So opening weekend sees NFC North Lions and Vikings winning while the Bears and Packers lose. Meanwhile Seattle and SF win as expected, as does Philly. Dallas, Skins, Giants to no one's surprise lose.

Dolphins, Jets and Buffalo on top in the AFC East. No that can't last. Bengals and Steelers are expected to fight it out all year in the North. Denver looked great but failed to cover the spread as Indy looked most dangerous when it didn't really matter anymore. Texans' D, even without Clowney is fantastic. Good thing for everyone else that they have no offense to speak of.

Chargers will show what they have tonight...but reports are high on Carson Palmer this year. We'll
See.

Ray Rice is getting everything he deserves right now. I just saw the video and it is horrendous. For a man to do that to the woman he supposedly loves is horrendous and inexcusable.

Getting suspended for the entire season may be exactly what he deserves. It is an outrage that the prosecutors let him off with a slap on the wrist for such a horrendous attack on a woman.

Ray Rice, a piece of human excrement is classier than you are.

He's been terrible for a while now. He's a TO Machine.

If he hadn't won those Superbowls, he'd be out of the league by now.

I'm a lifelong Giants fan. And I'm about to face one of the longest seasons of my life and that's saying a lot.

Look at the bright side--the East is weak enough that they Giants could win 8 games right there. Besides, Detroit is no slouch...they just can't keep it together all year to play as well as they did last night.

True. I think the Giants can beat Washington easily, and most likely Dallas & Philly too. But I hate that thought Calamity. It sucks to be the worst of a bad lot.

I don't think Eli can easily beat anyone.

Dallas was a Romo back injury away from sweeping the entire division last year. If he can bounce back and knock off the rust, I see this again being between the Eagles and Cowboys.

I'm hoping Eli was just having an off night.

Please don't burst my bubble. I have to live another 16 weeks.;)

the division is so weak, I see it playing out very much like last year. Nobody is going to pull away from the rest because we are all going to finish somewhere between 6-10 and 10-6

What was once the premier NFL division has fallen to the basement of the league.

Seems to work out the same every time. Three teams in the division have an incredible history. The other one only seems to win division titles when those three are experiencing down years.

The league seems to have the Eagles elevated over the rest, but I don’t see it. As they have done in the past, they may win the division, but only because of how mediocre the other three are.

Re: Nfl 2014/15[W:117, 134, 348]

Romo, Baby Manning, RG3 and Foles or Sanchez. Says it all. No?

Jury is still out on Foles and RG3. I'm not liking the RG3 vibe though. Damned shame too, Talented kid.
