Is it weird that I'm thinking of voting for Trump now?

It's not weird, but it's ill-advised. Just vote for Jill Stein, write in Sanders, or don't vote. I'd vote for a neoliberal before I'd vote for a fascist, and I won't vote for a neoliberal.

No, it's a pretty common phenomenon. Give it a day or 2 though and you'll wonder what you were thinking. Right now you hate Shillary for all this and you're only seeing Trump as not-Shillary. When I actually look at Trump I just can't see myself ever supporting that, even if it means throwing my vote to Shillary. I spent about 2 days thinking I would vote Trump over Shillary and just couldn't stay angry enough to overlook all his dumb****ery.

I would never vote for Trump. But that's also not an argument to vote for Hillary, either.

Do the right thing. If you can't vote for Sanders because he's not the nominee, at least make your vote count to keep Hillary out of the white house. That's more important than anything.

And help put an authoritarian fascist in office? Help put a man in office who wants to ban all Muslims from entering the US? Help a man whose father was a member of the KKK? Help a man who wants to put the press in jail? Help a man who wants to put women who get abortions in jail and is a total misogynist?

Pass.

What an ignorant comment. The rules regarding participation in Primaries have been in effect for a long time. Why should Independents get to pick who the Democratic Candidate is in the Primary?

You're debating with people who see beyond the 3 feet of radius around their head. We can see that even if everybody registered in time, they would just find some other way to cheat or suppress the vote. They obviously don't care how scandalous they look. Remember what they did to Ron Paul? Stripped all of his delegates for no reason other than he was winning. No, we need changes either with or without this ridiiculous 2 party system.

I find your observation interesting and you could be correct as this years has certainly been one of topsy turvy.

The way I look at it - Trump would destroy the Republican Party and it may not recover after top to bottom losses losing the Senate as well and allowing inroads in the House. I still see Trump losing at the top but I understand the fear that he is a wild card and thus unpredictable dying all expectations.

Cruz sure loser in November and he would also see the Senate switch control but I think he party stays intact under him the way the Dems stayed intact after the 72 loss.

So - for me - the prospect of real rivers of GOP bloodletting is just too good to pass up with Trump.
I agree.

Do they roll the dice with the yet unknown abilities of the brash new guy, who may run the gamut from securing the the Presidency, Senate, and Court - all the way to the polar extreme of losing everything including the party?

or,

Do the keep the party intact, throwing away the White House, likely the Senate, and definitely the Court?

Tough decision! And it may not even remain in their hands!

But actually, from my experience with power, many in power would rather hold on to a smaller amount of power, rather than risk it all away. Being the head of a small fiefdom is better than being a nothing & nobody in a larger entity. So for that reason, I could see them thinking Cruz.

But wait! Don't they hate Cruz, too? :doh

Yowsa, they're screwed!

Exactly. And a more deserving party for the honor one could not find.:cool:

I can't wait to see a Court with a majority of women on it by the time Hillary is finished in eight years. Heller will be a trivia question that few who are not on the far right even know the answer to.

Correct and the whining will loud and endless for a long time when they figure out that they stuck it to themselves, but of-course some will claim it was all a grand conspiracy and they were robbed, never admit that you might actually responsible for your own actions.

Yeah, but I'm torn on Heller.

I can't stand the overt gun culture that's growing in America, but still stand strongly with the 2A right to own a gun, at least in the sense of the Castle Doctrine.

So I'm kind of a ship without a dock, here.

Maybe that's why me & Bernie seem to get along ...

I am doing no such thing, I am saying those who are claiming that Trump cant win in Nov are wrong. After 8 years of Obama the mood in the country is not wanting stability, it is wanting someone who is willing to fight, something that Trump figured out when no one else did.

Speak for yourself, the last thing I want is some newbie who screws up the economy again for his and his buddies gain. BTW the office of President is not a wrestling arena and there is lttle to be gained by "fighting". It requires compromise and cajoling not name calling and blustering.

Okay that's pretty vague. Let's try this. Who and or what is your opponent?

At root the spiritual disintegration of the nation, and I am not talking about Religion. Trump gets it, the main point of his rallies is to communicate to us that he gets it. Western Civilization is dying, this is our last best chance to stop running, to stand and put up a fight for what we believe in, for what America was supposed to be all about.

I also support the right to own a gun. I also support the government to pass reasonable and sensible regulations regarding firearms. We need a delicate and careful balance which respects the right to both keep and bear arms as well as people to have the society they feel comfortable in living in.

And I think rational people can do that without much difficulty.

It sounds like you have thrown a lot of votes away in the past so why should you be any different this time? It's not that important since most Bernie supporters feel the same way Bernie does and HE is voting for Hillary. Do you at least vote Democrat in the Congressional races or do you throw away those votes too?

You either get it or you dont, at this level you cant be taught, you need to discover for yourself all of the really important lessons in life.

Hmm I think you do not have a clue as to what you are talking about but rather are blinded by a snake oil salesman.

Thought it was revealing how in exit polling last night in New York state a majority of people in both parties said they felt that Wall Street was hurting our economy. So Trump is having a positive effect at moving the non-wealthy base away from kowtowing to the needs of Wall Street over those of Main Street.

Yes, they brought this upon themselves when they as a party started not just accepting, but exalting the Limbaughs, Becks, Bachmanns, Trumps, and others who decry: "No birth certificate", "Death Panels", "He's a Kenyan".

They conditioned a large enough segment of their members to accept the outrageous and unbelievable as fact, all in the name of political expediency driven by greed and the lust for power. And now after laying their nefarious foundation, it came back to turn on them!

And yeah, those of us that don't like the party to begin with can only wryly smirk as the roosters come back to roost!

I can't believe I voted for this party at one time! :doh

And I think I wholeheartedly agree!

Again, the bias and childish contempt that Hillary supporters have for actual Progressives and Leftists is never bothered to be hidden. That's a poor tactical choice if you want your candidate to succeed this fall, but to answer your question: I voted for Barrack Obama, both in the primary and in the general elections. I've voted for Socialists and Democrats in congress before. I've voted for Greens in a few local elections.

I'm not concerned if my vote will corroborate nicely with political parties. I'm concerned about voting for who I think the best candidates are. It's a practice I encourage everyone to engage in. It'll literally make our country better.

Agreed, but the issue here is that most people are not rational on this issue. =)

Funny that you won't vote for Hilary to keep Trump out then. It appears your own contempt has made you blind.

It depends on how serious Trump is in the fall. I expect her to steam roll him for all of the obvious reasons. If that's unclear and Trump continues with his fascist statements, I may review my decision not to vote for her. Either way though, I will not stop fighting her and the corrupt system that props her up.

I respectfully differ. I have long suspected that if you simply discount those on the extremes - on the right those who want few if any regulations on guns and those not he left who want to abolish guns - that still leaves us with 75 to 80% of average decent people who would be more than willing to accept that we are going to have private gun ownership and reasonable government regulation of those same firearms as long as the basic right is preserved.

This is one issue where the extremes poison the well so that nobody else can drink.

Careful when you're weilding all that hyperbole! You might hurt yourself. btw, you forgot to call Trump "Hitler". All the cool kids are doing it!
