Conservatives view trans people as inherently sexual basically.(4) For the purposes of any prohibition, protection or requirement under any and all articles
and sections of the Code of West Virginia protecting children from exposure to indecent displays of
a sexually explicit nature, such prohibited displays shall include, but not be limited to, any
transvestite and/or transgender exposure, performances or display to any minor
A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section,
designated §18-5-29; and to amend and reenact §61-8A-1 of said code, all relating to the
prohibition of obscene materials in or within 2,500 feet of West Virginia schools; and
defining criminal penalties for obscene materials in or within 2,500 feet of West Virginia
schools.
(a) Any adult, with knowledge of the character of the matter, who knowingly and intentionally distributes, offers to distribute, or displays to a minor any obscene matter, is guilty of a felony and, upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not more than $25,000, or confined in a state correctional facility for not more than five years, or both. (a) The main aspect of the performance is a performer which exhibits
a gender identity that is different than the performer's gender assigned
at birth using clothing, makeup, or other physical markers (Source)
A new bill proposed in West Virginia effectively makes it functionally illegal to be publicly transgender. It amends their definition of obscene material to include "any transgender exposure".
Conservatives view trans people as inherently sexual basically.
Obscene material (which now includes exposure to trans people) is banned within 2,500 feet of schools.
The punishment for exposing a minor to obscene material is a felony.
How would this effect transgender teachers or parents? What if you drive/walk past a school?
A recently proposed law of a similar nature effectively bans transgender people from performing in public, and possibly Shakespeare plays and movies like Ms Doubtfire.
The new round of anti-trans bills being introduced are far more worrying than previous laws. The end goal is clear. They view transgender people as a social contagen and existing in public as a sexual act, basically grooming children into being trans, and want to ban trans people from public life. They don't want them in media. They don't want them to teach. They don't want them to be parents. They wished they didn't exist at all.
Actually Nazi Germany specifically had a symbol for trans and queer people.Transgenders might need to wear a star or something to distinguish them from the rest of the population.
Later, the use of a pink triangle was established for prisoners identified as homosexual men, which also included bisexual men and transgender women.
Sums up "anti-wokist" ideology in a nutshell.West Virginia has one of the lowest standards of living and highest poverty rates in the country, and people are fleeing in droves.
So what do they do? Persecute trans people!
It will be without any sense of irony that the advocates of this accuse any pushback as a kind of gestapo liberal attack on their religious liberty.Actually Nazi Germany specifically had a symbol for trans and queer people.

Reactionaries when the economy goes down the drain trying to decide if they should blame immigrants, religious minorities, sexual minorities, racial minorities, or moral degeneracy this time.Sums up "anti-wokist" ideology in a nutshell.
Obsessing over shit that doesn't affect you and oppressing anyone who's already marginalized, while real issues slap you in the face.

This bill will not survive a legal challenge. It will get tossed and so will the backward idiot who proposed it.A new bill proposed in West Virginia effectively makes it functionally illegal to be publicly transgender. Again, this will fail, and WV will face litigation over it.Obscene material (which now includes exposure to trans people) is banned within 2,500 feet of schools.

Strictly speaking those laws are unenforceable.A recently proposed law of a similar nature effectively bans transgender people from performing in public, and possibly Shakespeare plays and movies like Ms Doubtfire.

But but the transes are the evil ones or so terfs and republicans tell us.A new bill proposed in West Virginia effectively makes it functionally illegal to be publicly transgender. It amends their definition of obscene material to include "any transgender exposure".

I'll trust Southern states to get anything right once they can go a decade without ****ing up the basic, bare minimum treatment of dogs.I wonder if TN and Al will follow. I mean we can't keep trash off the roads and animals properly kept but that might be something to concern oneself with.
Not necessary. The giant hoops and acrylics don’t hide the adams apple.Transgenders might need to wear a star or something to distinguish them from the rest of the population.
Got anything more useless you want to add to this thread, Napoleon? Not necessary. The giant hoops and acrylics don’t hide the adams apple.
I wouldn't be surprised if Texas follows this as well.I wonder if TN and Al will follow. I mean we can't keep trash off the roads and animals properly kept but that might be something to concern oneself with.
Sure.Got anything more useless you want to add to this thread, Napoleon?
...with a bounty for arrests, prescriptions thwarted, libraries shuttered or bars closed.I wouldn't be surprised if Texas follows this as well.
It literally says any "transgender exposure". Sexually explicate content was already banned. This law would basically treat being trans as some kind of crossdressing sexual act. It wasn't that long ago in Texas that you could be arrested for wearing 3 articles of clothing that were for the opposite gender. A lot of the people who made and voted for those laws are still alive today. It sounds like its targeted to drag shows and such.
Have you ever asked a woman "Ms or Mrs"? Or anyone for that matter "how many I address you"? Used to be good manners. You can think however you like but being polite is still a good thing.Sure.
If you need a star for this then you don’t have eyes.
