This isn't an accurate description of what the UN report says. Here is the actual text.

"In this context, the enforcement of criminal law should reflect the rights and capacity of persons under 18 years of age to make decisions about engaging in consensual sexual conduct and their right to be heard in matters concerning them. Pursuant to their evolving capacities and progressive autonomy, persons under 18 years of age should participate in decisions affecting them, with due regard to their age, maturity and best interests, and with specific attention to non-discrimination guarantees."

It seems fairly reasonable to me.

You even read the Fox News article?

It does not actively call for decriminalizing sex between adults and minors. But it states that children have both the capacity and the legal right to make sexual decisions.

Now the article it self is a bunch of right wing conspiracy theories and the above statement is what stops anyone from suing Fox yet again.

Fact is, some current age of consent laws are being abused by some member countries to strike down consensual sex and love between teenagers. The US is one of these, which is why I suspect many right wing Americans are against such attempts to change age of consent laws to account for a 15 year old falling in love with a 17 or 18 year old and the 17/18 year old being arrested for statutory rape and put on a sex offender list the rest of his/her life. The problem with so many consent laws, is they dont take the situation into consideration and are open to massive abuses by parents who dont approve of a boyfriend.

It is also the typical right wing distraction, because while they are against this and calling people for pedos... they also are allowing children to marry in 43 US states and forcing children to have children by denying abortion in case of rape or incest. And lets not for get.. the US is one of the few who has not signed the Convention on the Rights of Children.
