Republicans allowed democrats to openly and fairly participate in the impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998.
There was a special prosecutor. They didn’t get the answer they intended so they have to fabricate new charges.
Republicans allowed democrats to openly and fairly participate in the impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998. Democrats in the proceedings against Trump have told the republicans to go to hell of they think the democrats will reciprocate by allowing republicans to participate in their closed door unofficial secret impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Here is a grateful word of thanks from democrat John Conyers to republican Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde in 1998:
"You know as well as I," Conyers told Hyde, "that whatever action this committee takes must be fair, it must be bipartisan, for it to have credibility. The American people deserve no less, and history will judge us by how well we achieve that goal."
Sorry, Mr. Conyers, Adam Schitff cannot allow republicans to participate because his case is being built on inaccurate and dishonest twists of evidence for the purpose of achieving the supreme goal of all democrats leading up to the 2020 election: 'Trump must be impeached before he has the chance to stomp the democrat candidate in the 2020 election.'
Democrats have abandoned bipartisan format of Clinton impeachment
There was a special prosecutor in the Clinton impeachment who gathered all the facts and they voted based on the report. In this case, there is no special prosecutor. Democrats are just investigating and questioning witnesses. This is the fact-gathering phase. Trump will have his chance to defend himself after that phase.

Why are they doing impeachment in the intelligence committee instead of the judiciary? Because their 'whistleblowers' are CIA plants and they don't want the truth to come out. Hence all the so called impeachment inquiry hearings have been behind closed doors.
Mum's the word lol!

If you mean Mueller, his investigation didn't cover the area that triggered the more recent inquiry. There was a special prosecutor. They didn’t get the answer they intended so they have to fabricate new charges.
It's an investigation, and Republicans have the right to question witnesses. What do you think should be happening?
The crooked Democrats changed the rules to work to their advantage almost a year ago.
Kangaroo type justice, one sided :bs, no transparency or accountability to the public.
The American people should not stand for closed door secrecy.

Behind closed doors the whole screwy investigation. Not the image you like to see if you believe democracy thrives in the light.
News Flash!! Republicans DO participate in these hearings. This entire thread only goes to prove how clueless you are regarding these impeachment hearings.
It's not a democratic process, It's an investigation. Investigations are always done in secrecy. How else can you protect the people who are investigated and found guiltless? Do you think the news media should be in on all the steps in the investigation? The report says Republicans question witnesses but you don't see them making it public.
I don't see what you think should be done better.

Wake up. That was 1998. Republicans are participating in closed door committee meetings to investigate Presidential wrongdoing. They have equal access to these witnesses, equal time to question and cross examine them. What they want is input into who gets subpoenaed just like the 'old days' you just referred to.Republicans allowed democrats to openly and fairly participate in the impeachment proceedings against Clinton in 1998. Sure they do, and nobody said that they didn't, but the Republicans are bound by the rules of the Democrats that they set after they won the House in 2018.
Too damned bad, that's what they get for being the party of Trump, it all turned on their party by changing the House. Democrats control the house and subsequently control the rules of impeachment hearings. As Mick Mulvaney said "deal with it.".
