When the previous administration deliberately flooded the country with 20 MILLION illegal immigrants, identifying and removing 3000 a day doesnt seem inappropriate.

And as they would be contributing members of society under a guest worker program in whatever sector they would be employed in they would no longer be a burden to the rest of us. But I can point to this law- championed by Democrats- that makes it difficult and somewhat of a liability for employers to use E-Verify to comply with not hiring illegals.

Keeping an underclass of people to work jobs that are difficult, low paying, etc. is a bi-partisan thing.

IIRC, an eVerify mandate (without the FIT code change) was part of H.R. 2 (border security bill) which passed in the House, but died in the Senate.



I’d prefer having the eVerify mandate, coupled with an FIT code change, which leaves out the possibility (probability?) for ‘prosecutorial discretion’.

The current emphasis seems to be on deporting those with criminal records, re-entry after deportation, existing removal orders and others they find while trying to locate them.
