I give you the IWI TAVOR SAR

IWI TAVOR SAR .223/5.56 Rifles

handled one the other day. very light and compact. Trigger is not as crisp as your average AR 15. While the weapon is supposed to use all STANAG M 16 mags, it appears it works best with the currently hard to find P Mags and not as well as some of the aluminum ones.

changing mags from a prone position is going to be less efficient than with the AR

at 2 Grand its about twice the cost of a solid AR and about 600 more than the excellent Microtech copy of the Steyr AUG

I wonder if Feinswein and Schumer will hate it less since it was designed and made (mostly-as much as 18 USC 922 allows) in Israel:mrgreen:

Heck TD- I haven't seen any AR's for less than around $1500 in recent months.

I bought Junior a Windham weaponry (the old Bushmaster company in Maine) a flat top about 5 weeks about for about 850 or so. Of course now its got an aimpoint on it a a troy handguard so its about 1500!

the prices are coming down to more realistic level. at a gun show in cincinnati, dozens were available-all about 100 or 150 more than what they were pre Newtown, Pre November election. The gun shops have plenty in stock now and rices will drop

ammo is still idiotic though 1000 rounds of PMC or federal 193 ball (55 grain) is down to about 360 an thousand-50-60 dollars higher than what it was a year ago but a lot less than some of the gouging I saw in January. 22 RF is still way overpriced as is 9MM (if you can find it)

fortunately I have tons of the WOLF 9mm which is good practice stuff

I love it when you talk dirty!

Meh I've never really been a fan of bullpup designs outside of movies and video games.

Get out more Lizzie. I've seen plenty under $1k. Mind you it's not Larue or Colt etc but they are out there. Palmetto has been releasing uppers under $600, BCGs under $200, and lowers around $200-400 depending on quality. The craze is on 9mm hard right now, 22LR to. I just saw a 100 CCIs sell for $20 OMG. CA is facing a serious ammo tax. We will buy all we can till then. It's not going to get better for some time.

Unfortunately for me, my current craze is the old Savage-Anschutz .22 LR that I bought last week. I'm just waiting for the ammo to come down in price, and come up in availability.

I'm not familiar with what kind of 22 LR ammo you need for that or if "just any" will do, but best hang at Wal Mart in the AM. I scored some decent bricks at mine last week. My wife still doesn't understand what cost $130 extra in groceries!

All I've shot through it so far was some American Eagle that I had here on hand, but it groups pretty well for never having shot this gun before. I have plenty of ammo around here, just haven't had the time to devote to comparing it all yet.

Holy Moses!

A female who knows AR prices - be still my heart!!!!!

Wahoo! What a woman!

I like all things mechanical, and I have a tool fetish.

Damn - it just keeps getting better and better......

yeah I believe it is-this one is mainly made in Israel

Close combat rifle with a barrel as long as an M16 if I remember. They moved the breach to the rear, correct?

I like the TAVOR design very much and have seen one recently on a gun site for-sale forum for $2700. But For that price I think I'll just stay with the BCM AR15 I just bought.

PMAGS have become easier to acquire. Additionally, third generation PMAGS are made to fit the AR platform as well as non-AR rifles that use AR mags like the TAVOR.

I am seeing lots of PMags at 25 bucks now

I recently bought a lot of 5 - 30 round second generation non-windowed PMAGS with Dust covers for $20 a piece + $10 shipping.

Seems like many firearms related products are becoming available again and prices are getting back to normal. Now if only ammo would fall in line.

You can always buy a Ruger Mini14 for about 650 and a bullpup tactical stock for 150. Same ballistics, reliable, affordable.
