NC Sheriff new security measures - locking up AR's inside school for officers

Not to coddle them and treat the mass murderer as if they were somehow the victim, like leftist pieces of shit do all the time.

What the hell are you even talking about here?

What nonsense is this?

You know, you'd think living in nature might mellow you out somewhat, but my word, you could use some exposure to civilization and other human beings, because the anger and rage you are projecting here in your isolation isn't good.

Yes. It seems that arming teachers with firearms and training them well is not the correct solution.
Teachers should not be required to be armed, nor should they be prohibited from being armed. It should be left up to the discretion of the teacher. Nobody should know whether a teacher is armed or not. It is none of their business.

3.2 million teachers and 27 school shootings.
Perhaps some of the more egregious death counts could be avoided.

The signs don't seem to work.

so you want, when a shooter starts shooting little kids faces off, for the security guy to have to run all the way to the office (which could be on the other end of the school), enter in the combination (maybe with someone else's approval), get the guns, run all the way back to the scene and then start shooting?

hell, all the kids would be dead by then.
Shit, I guess you'll be arguing they should just store guns in classrooms so no one has to run anywhere..

I'm not going to promote that. We'll just have to disagree there.

As suspected, the whole concept of the winking smiley-face was completely lost on you. Why am I not surprised?
Some people take this topic seriously. ;)

When schools in one North Carolina county reopen later this month, new security measures will include stocking AR-15 rifles for school resource officers to use in the event of an active shooter.

Sheriff Harwood said the safes where the AR-15s will be kept will also hold ammunition and breaching tools for barricaded doors.

“We’ll have those tools to be able to breach that door if needed. I do not want to have to run back out to the car to grab an AR, because that’s time lost. Hopefully we’ll never need it, but I want my guys to be as prepared as prepared can be,” he said.

.

I like this idea. This is just another resource for an officer to get to if they find themselves inside the school as an incident occurs.
wHy?,?!why?,?!?

I'd prefer they didnt in schools.
Then what would be the point in having them? Maybe they could yell at them or threaten them with the law? I'd
say call 911 but the kid/s did at Uvalde and we know how well that worked out.
I'm fine with licensed open carry. Statistically those people are the least likely to commit crimes, far below the levels licensed police officers do.
You don't know much about gun people do you. Take your statistically and put it away because that little piece of paper doesn't mean a thing. Licensed= https://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/probe-opened-denver-police-shooting-injured-88514862 Also this beauty https://www.cnn.com/2012/08/25/justice/new-york-empire-state-shooting and there are plenty of others. Even as anti gun as OR. is they don't have that....yet.

Yes, that's the point. Licensed carriers are even safer, from a statistical standpoint, than police officers. New York police especially have a habit of shooting innocent people, but that just goes to confirm my point.

What's the point of having handguns in school you ask?

I don't know. Probably just to scare the kids I would imagine. Why do you think they are there?

So you're good with school shooters? That's how you seem to come across. And the nonsense you refer to is the picked apart post 201 .

you should post that to the other poster.
Not everyone wants the most deadly weapons handed out to every teacher and student like you do, dude.

Storing in the classrooms? Have fun disagreeing with yourself.

Nah. I asked myself, we agree, guns in classrooms are probably not the answer. @CaughtInThe is worried about having to walk a whole hallway to get to a safe. I can't imagine where they think guns should be stored.

if guns are going to be in schools (to protect children) then they need to be quickly accessible so that when the gunman starts shooting the "good guy with a gun" can cut the number of killed children down. if the "good guy with a gun" has to run to the office (or some room) to get guns then the gunman has already taken out entire class rooms.

btw, how long does it take you to shoot 30 times?

Yeah, they don't need to be that accessible. Kids don't need guns in their desks. You right whingers have crazy ideas. No wonder there are so many school shootings in this country, with people like you arguing teachers and resource officers and kids need to be armed in school.

if we're gonna have to arm our schools (due to all the school shootings) then the guns need to be quickly accessible to stop the shooter. otherwise what good are they?

now, am i for arming our schools? of course not.

do i see a way to stop school shootings? of course not.

Are you saying that the NYPD don't need to be licensed to carry firearms? And that's why they go off half cocked shooting?
What's the point of having handguns in school you ask?
You said you'd prefer they didn't have handguns, and I gave you a sarcastic answer except for the Uvalde 911 calls.
I don't know. Probably just to scare the kids I would imagine. Why do you think they are there?
Some say so kids can get into their desk and get them and start shooting. Just because you piss yourself at the sight of one doesn't mean everyone does.

When did it become every teacher AND student and when did CaughtInThe become an advocate for that shit?
They don't want a single rifle locked in a safe because it takes far too long to get to ( they say). They have argued that handguns are better for schools. Where do you think they want guns kept? Obviously closer than a single safe accessible only to school resource officers. .. so where would that be? Hmm?

Nah. I asked myself, we agree, guns in classrooms are probably not the answer. @CaughtInThe is worried about having to walk a whole hallway to get to a safe. I can't imagine where they think guns should be stored.
By the time you walk or run a hallway away how many kids are shot because you took the safe way instead of engaging or at least attempting to with your sidearm? Remember that hallway away is also a hallway back not counting trying to open the safe under duress. You can practice it until you're blue in the face, but it's not the same.

Are you saying that the NYPD don't need to be licensed to carry firearms? And that's why they go off half cocked shooting?
Absolutely they were exempt from the licensing qualification that non law enforcement had to go through. I don't know if that is the reason, but they commit crimes at higher rates than licensed ccw holders.

You said you'd prefer they didn't have handguns, and I gave you a sarcastic answer except for the Uvalde 911 calls.
I'd prefer no one carried handguns in schools. Why the **** would anyone!? Do you want handguns in schools !?

Nah man. I like guns. I own several. I just don't want them in schools.
