The Hill reported Monday that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi threatened to reveal information on Newt Gingrich that could derail his campaign for President "when the time is right."
“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich," she told Talking Points Memo.
Brian Buetler of TPM added:

Pelosi knows more about Gingrich than perhaps any other major national political figure. She was a senior Democrat when Gingrich was House Speaker, served on the ethics committee that investigated Gingrich for tax cheating and campaign finance violations, and even cut a 2008 ad with him on the importance of addressing global climate change.

I noted that I do not care for Newt and I had no plans to vote for him. I read this and it makes me rethink my position.

I think Pelosi was just talking sh**, like she often does. It's not as if Gingrich has any room to talk. And it's certainly not as if anyone considered him to be squeaky clean... stupid manufactured story, IMO.

First, I hope whatever she's planning to reveal she learned through channels where she should be making them public and not privledged private information that she plans to expose.

Second, I think its kind of sad and a picture of our political climate that we have a person who clearly seems to believe they have significant evidence that would suggest someone wouldn't be worthy of being President enough to make people vote against him, and yet rather than release said information she's holding onto it for nothing but politcal gamesmenship to attempt to use it not to further the best election process but to further her own parties agenda. Information she likely largely gathered due to her service at the behest of the people as a Representitive in the House. If she's got some big damaging information on Newt she should release it now for the benefit of the American People rather than using information gleamed from her time in public office as a means of political strategy focused on the betterment of the party, not America.

All the more reason why Nancy shouldn't be the minority leader. I'm very surprised she kept the House leadership post after the last election, and I'm sure her intra-party detractors just gained the upper hand.

There should be NO such things as private ethic panels in government. If it's a negative and the panel decided to do nothing about it, they failed in their duty and should be gone anyway.
