My kinda guy and he defies the MSM bias

Re: My kinda guy and he defies the MSM

Correct, we should not have to call on the right wing bigots to have common decency, but in a free society we have to tolerate their immoral indecency

And vice-versa.

Shouldn't be forced to call for common decency in the face of lascivious and rude displays of behavior in public by anyone.

Now Sangha, surely you don't mean something on the order of 'right wing bigots have to common decency' but everyone else is exempted, right?
Surely you are more even handed and fair minded than that, right?

Re: My kinda guy and he defies the MSM

In public. I could very well be on my business walking down the street and this parade goes by.

How about a level of common decency of behavior in public?
I know I wouldn't want my wife and me subjected to one of these parades, but it's not very likely they will pop up out of the blue, they are highly publicized and are 100% avoidable. We support gays, but that doesn't mean we support everything they do. We also think a heterosexual couple making out in public disgusting.

Re: My kinda guy and he defies the MSM

TBBT makes gay jokes all the time about Raj and Howard's relationship. Not gay -- but they act like it sometimes.

Making gay jokes about a bromance is not "pushing the gay agenda."

Correct, those heterosexuals really need to tone it down

Oh the story gets even better.

Anti-gay auto shop owner fights attempt to license business, claims government intrusion

GRANDVILLE, MI - The auto shop owner who posted on Facebook that he would refuse to serve openly gay customers does not have a city business license, according to Grandville administrators.
<snip>
"This is a blatant and intentioned violation of the Fourth Amendment of the Constitution," Klawiter told the council on Jan. 26. "I dispute your lawful ability to do what you claim. I will not sign the application. I cannot and will not give up my civil rights, especially when requested by a government entity for which the Constitution was designed to limit the power of.

"Would you sign something giving me the right to search your home as I pleased?"

It came to the city's attention last year that Dieseltec lacks a city business license, City Clerk Mary Meines said. Grandville requires businesses to pay a $100 licensing fee, with no cost for annual renewals.

The 'libertarians' will definitely be driving to his shop now. He's gonna show those oppressive government types they can't mess with a 'real' man.

I didn't say it was. I was just commenting on the "gay" subject also being on TBBT.

Re: My kinda guy and he defies the MSM

The problem as I see it with the whole gay thing is nobody's truly an expert on who's gay and who's not.

If a guy in a purple shirt walks in and the business owner thinks he's gay but he's not gay, therein lies your whole problem with "These" people can't come in my store. You don't know who is and isn't "These people". What if some Marlboro looking guy comes in and he's actually gay but the owner doesn't "Think" he's gay?

As a white nerdy straight guy with many leftist leanings who looks like a stereotypical sports jock I can tell you that most people, both conservative and liberal, are not good at telling whether someone is gay or not. Most people simply judge based off political affiliation or what a person is wearing, both of which will tell you nothing about ones sexuality. Another reality is that there are statistically very few gays. The statistical likelihood that you are going to guess right on someone who is in fact gay compared to someone who isn't is extremely unlikely.

I'd say probably 99% of the people your average Liberal and Conservative person judges to "Be Gay" are married, have a gf/ are straight.

Take it up with god. Normal society in the year 2015 in America disagrees with you. I hope you never need a doctor or medic or nurse who happens to be gay.

I hope he does.

Both of them? I mean, talk about limiting your customer base...

Interesting, you are walking down the street, and a parade goes by and it forces you to what? Look? Engage? Chat with the parade people? I don't know what you're getting at here. That an event which happens maybe once a year PER city is placing some undue stress on your life? Where do you live that these parades are a daily nightmare?

How about a level of common decency of behavior in public?

Your belief in common decency is irrelevant to the parades. They're events for decency anymore than Mardi Gras past 10PM is.

LOL that's one of my favorites.

He's also claiming to have received death threats. He posted it on Facebook.

My money says he's full of crap.

Don't you get that the problem is JUST gays? There are literally thousands of events around the globe and hundreds in the US which disrupt a person's sense "common decency". However, only the gay people who parade for one week once a year, on a predetermined street, are fowling up the common decency glands of conservatives.

Just yanking your chain a little bit. :) (BTW: Erik)

So I fast forwarded through this clip, but didn't see anything in particular that was objectionable. A specific shot that you have objections to?

Meh. It's not. In Sangha's biker clip, if there was bare boobs or stuff like that, that'd fall short of what I'd consider common decency.

I'm not certain that wandering around on the street in underwear and / or g-strings is within common decency, for anyone. Seems that LGBT parades draws out all those who feel they need to be exhibitionists or something.

But maybe I'm just a bit prudish.

And I'm not sure roaring around the streets on a loud bike is within common decency. Seems that biker rallies (and Mardi Gras, and Spring Break, and night clubs, and Halloween, etc) draws out all the heterosexuals who feel they need to be exhibitionists or something.

And then there's the nudity and drunkeness which always accompany these events. Not decent IMO

Well, what we've established is that it's clear that this all depends on your sense of common decency. Do you want to answer just what forces you to look at any of this? The streets are sealed off, the events are clearly not for children, so what is forcing you to be there? Oh, you mean you have to take a different street street? Interesting. I'm sure you'd also be for banning St Patrick's day if the problem is walking around? Are these the only parades which happen in your city? I doubt it.

LOL. Although, I'd be willing to give a little on the loud bikes part a little bit.

Yeah, and that's beyond the bounds as well.

Michigan auto repair shop says yes to gun owners, no to homosexuals

A Michigan car repair shop owner says openly gay people are not welcome at his business. And gun owners are.

Brian Klawiter owns Dieseltec shop in Grandville.

In a statement this week on his company Facebook page, he urged gun owners to visit his business, promising a discount for those who do.

"Enough is enough," his post said, declaring that the voices of conservative Americans are getting drowned out. He pledged to operate his business the way he sees fit.

That's fine even, if he's a jerk.

So what levels of depravity do you think should be acceptable in public then? All of them? Some of them? Do please tell.

At one point in time there was kinda a rule of thumb, something on the order if you wouldn't want your mom to see, probably shouldn't be doing it in public. Is that forsaken now as well?
