Yet they want them extended.

How do you answer a question about a topic when you have little or no knowledge on the subject?

Uninformed public.

Very sad.

KFF Health Tracking Poll: ACA Enhanced Subsidies

Most adults say they have heard “a little” (33%) or “nothing at all” (40%) about the expiring ACA subsidies. This includes majorities of Democrats (64%), independents (76%), and Republicans (75%) who say they have heard “a little” or “nothing at all” about these enhanced subsidies, as well as more than half (59%) of people who purchase their own insurance plans, the vast majority of which are ACA Marketplace plans.

24 million are on ACA, 20 more million are on the medicaid expansion. There 240 million people in America so these aren't very high percentages. And they're only getting rid of the ACA subsidies, not the whole thing. States are expected to cover some of the medicaid expansion. It's just not that big a deal... unless you're one of them.

I don't know or care what KFF is selling, but Newsmax doesn't report that the ACA is being defunded, doesn't mention the ACA at all, so it isn't happening.

MAGA.

Yes, posted this in another thread. Only 7% know more than a little about the subsidies, so any polling on the issue is highly dependent on the way the question is asked and can't reliably represent what their opinions would be if they understood the issue.

Cleary, more public debate is needed. Hopefully when Schumer backs down from his temper tantrum, they can get back to it.

Poor people don't deserve health care.

Yeah, of course. Most AMERICAN adults watch Fox, so remain ignorant.

The rest love watching NFL and Nascar and couldn't be bothered to study policy proposals.

So the title should really read Most American adults say they have heard a little about anything.

Of course, the people most affected by this are the people making well over six figures and 400% of the poverty threshold.

People seem to understand the issue just fine. Tax credits that make coverage affordable for America families need to be extended and if they’re not then millions of families’ costs are about to spike.

It’s an 80-20 issue.

The root problem is they're poor and cannot provide for themselves and their families. Government subsidies like just mask the root problem rather than attack it head on.

Federal subsidies (for many things) are popular, while raising federal revenue to pay for them isn’t. The solution, preferred by our congress critters, is annual federal deficit (stimulus?) spending - currently at about $2T/year.

Okay, good example of an opinion stemming from not understanding the issue. Touché.

It's an extremely big deal to millions of people.

But not you, so who cares, right?

Well, it’ll be interesting if ending poverty is the GOP counter offer.

You people vote against attacking the root problem all the time.

Having an uninformed public makes it easy for the media to manipulate them on the issue.

We know that's wrong. We have data in the OP that shows just the opposite.

It doesn't make coverage affordable. Insurance companies get their guaranteed cut, but most people end up paying for everything anyway because they never hit their deductible.

Our current congress just blew up the deficit to give out tax cuts to benefit the rich the most.

I don’t want to hear about “deficit”

😂🙄

The poll shows that only 8% of Democrats know "a lot" about the issue, which is the same percentage as Republicans.

So people should lose health coverage because... you're mad at Congress?

Maybe the real solution is to reverse some of the tax cuts the US has passed for the past 50 years. Just a thought.

It sure does when a family is paying $500/month in premiums vs. $2500

Hitting a deductible has nothing to do with subsidies.

Well said!

Getting rid of Obamacare will certainly help weed the poor out, but it isn't enough to Make America Great Again.

We need to be rid of SNAP as well, and when the last poor person is gone, our country will truly be great.
