Some of these people were high ranking commanders.

I doubt they were stupid.

I doubt they risked their jobs and retirement to "get out of jail free".

When my brother was in (this was around the time of Greneda); he had pictures from his barracks. One guy had a dime bag of weed.

And yes, that was right at about the time that was rapidly leaving the military.

It would have been a few months after that that I walked into my barracks room, and got the shock of my life. My Section Leader was sitting on his rack wearing his M17 gas mask. And had a pipe connected to the breathing tube, and was using it with his buddy for smoking weed.

Well, I turned right the hell around, walked out, and said nothing.

But that was also the time that most of the kinks (clinically and legally) had finally been worked out of the urinalysis program, and in 1984 it open up wide. The first year at that duty, we saw on average 4 or 5 kicked out for pissing hot. And this was still the era of "three strikes". You had to piss hot on three different tests, and be given 3 different Article 15 hearings before you could be kicked out. Yet we were still booting out around 5% of our people for failing the test.

The differences between the two eras of then and now are often striking. And the Marines can actually forgive quite a lot. But directly refusing an order or regulation? At that, the general belief is "Screw you, you did not want to be one of us anyways".

If you look back, a few years ago I gave a rather famous drunken rant on how I hate some civilians. And you are almost perfectly fitting that image I had in mind when I wrote it.

Can't say that I agree with or support this policy of forced vaccination. Young, strong, healthy Marines are part of the population which is least likely to experience any negative consequences from a COVID infection, and the most likely to survive such an infection with natural immunity as a result.

Covid threatens combat readiness. You're trying to undermine national security. What is your motivation for this?

Do legal orders include forced mRNA vaccinations? I know that some will immediately say yes, but I'm skeptical, and wonder what the UCMJ states on this.
