Mom Arrested After Confrontation With NYPD Officers Over Face Mask

The current rules are facemask are not optional. I personally don't take it well when someone starts to cuss at me when reminding them of the current rules. Guess the public doesn't want help from the police.

So simple. Follow the guidelines and even if you can't do that don't get combative with police. Save your day for court.
 
Arrest someone for not wearing a face mask....but let a rapist out because of COVID so he can rape again.

People are required to wear masks in a city that suffered like no other in the world and you think it's OK that they defy the law? Do you think people should just be left alone and walk around w/o required masks where Trump said it's up to them to handle matters as they see fit, they're on their own? She refused to wear the mask when the police told her to do so, as the law requires, and she slapped their hand away when they tried to restrain her as she attempted to walk away w/o putting on the mask that was around her neck. What do you think should have been done?
 
"She responded to the officers with vulgar language and repeatedly refused requests to properly wear her face covering over her nose and mouth," the NYPD said. Rozier can be heard yelling and cursing at the officers in the video as she was being escorted out of the subway station. She and some of the officers were off-camera when she screamed, "Don't touch me." The video then showed Rozier slapping away one of the officers' hands, and that's when officers moved in, took her to the ground and placed her in handcuffs.

And in every single other thread about a thing like this happening, they'd be say she deserved it for disrespecting the officer.

They'd say "don't want stupid prizes? Don't play stupid games."

But because it's important to them to insist that 85,000 dead people are a hoax in order to gaslight themselves into voting for Trump again, this one instance of police being police is an outrage.

I'm so sick of this bull****. You should be furious with the behavior of American police regularly. You only pretend to care about the treatment of criminal suspects and criminal defendants when there's a political get the libturds type reason available.




If you do watch the video, it's actually not one of the many situations where the cops beat someone to a pulp for no good reason. She's walking away from them. One taps her on the shoulder, and she starts swinging. Unlike the usual case, they don't end up smashing her face into the ground or whatever.

Jail seems a bit excessive, for the mom it seems that she was quite belligerent and slapped the cop.

End all be all, just wear a damned mask when outside, folk. It's not hard.

Generally speaking, courts are overwhelmingly denying motions for stay of sentence in light of COVID and other means to secure temporary release. The ones that are granted are, in general, cases that would almost certainly be fatal. The only time a sentence should mean death is when it's a death sentence, and that's only for those who believe such a sentence is tolerable when we get it wrong so often.

(Or perhaps we could instead drop this whole "land of the brave, home of the free" act, and all the chest-thumping about loving the constitution and due process. Americans talk themselves up about such things when they really could not care less what happens after an officer says someone is guilty of something, let alone after they are convicted).

Nevermind that she was arrested after striking officers, so there's something wrong with both ends of that..





You might also want to stop more generally and think for a bit. There's a rather pointed flaw in trying to say "let 'em die, I don't want to take the risk that any of them will re-offend!" on the one hand, and "I demand the right to expose innocent people to COVID and get them killed!" on the other.

Never. But since an executive order carries the weight of law, this is not an applicable analogy, since it would be punishing a Soldier for refusing to obey a lawful order.

Aren't things like States of Emergency and Martial Law executive orders?

The President has long legislated through Executive Order and the States have too. These States have States of Emergency declared which grants government dangerous powers. Y'all never really seemed to bitch about this before. But now you are? Why? Because your propaganda piece is that this is some Democrat Hoax to make the President look bad?

Y'all are far too late to the party to start crying about reigning in government power. Anyone who was actually worried about the growth and expansion of government power has been voting Libertarian for some time now.
