Mlb 2015

It's early--there's a lot of parity in baseball--aim for 0.500 and I'll hope for Ryno.

With the draft in two weeks and the Dallas RB and your head coach, camp will be here before you know it.
Hockey ?

i root for the flyers when they are in the playoffs

i used to root for the sixers (when iverson helped win game 1 @ lakers in the 2001?) but havent really cared about basketball since

honestly, the phils traded rollins to the dodgers (who was my favorite player). they need to trade hamels and just start over from scratch at this point. the nationals have the best staff in the league and we simply don't have the players to compete.

fortunately i live near the Iron Pigs, who at this point, are nearly indistinguishable from the phillies - but for a fraction of the cost!

Bethlehem Catholic had an un-seeded true freshman Zeke Moisey place 2nd at 125 at St. Louis---I was there---if you're into wrestling, enough said.

Pig Iron--that's a good one. :lamo
I had to Google Phillies farm teams, though I remembered Reading--I would probably go there also--true young talent at AA.
That's where Sandburg was when the Cubs traded for him and Dernier.

Phillies beat the gnats 6 of 9 at home last year.
Williams, Hamels, and O'Sullivan this weekend--not too imposing I agree.
It's early--win 2 of 3 at a time--like Boston tonight.

Rollins already hit a game-winner as I'm sure you know--A. Gonzalez with 3 HRs last night is unreal right now .

I'm hoping that my Mariners make the playoffs this year, but they are not at a good start being 1-2.:(

Reds are 4-0. Swept the Pirates and just beat the Cardinals.

As are the Rockies--neither expected.

Reds are 4-0. Swept the Pirates and just beat the Cardinals.

As for the Nats, they've scored 7 runs in 4 games and have TEN starting pitchers, a brutal shortstop, and both Werth and Span on the shelf.
Meanwhile, the Cubs have SS Addison Russell waiting in AAA for the Cubs to make a deal for Starlin Castro .

Rollins already hit a game-winner as I'm sure you know--

One of my favorite players.
Bay Area native....Oakland, I think.
One of those graceful fielders that makes the game look easy.
It's usually the SS's who do that.
Ozzie Smith. Rollins, Barry Larkin, Omar Vizquel.
They're almost like ballet dancers out there.

A. Gonzalez with 3 HRs last night is unreal right now .

Yawn......AG will wind up batting .286 with 100+RBIs.....95% of which will have no bearing on the game's outcome.

My M's got destroyed by the A's today 0-12.

This is why I love baseball so much--so many variables.
The A's got crushed by the Rangers yesterday afternoon 10-1, yet were still at home today.
This was the first away game and flight/hotel for SEA and the kid Walker was hyped too much.
Wilhelmsen didn't help by allowing in all three runners he inherited.

My M's got destroyed by the A's today 0-12.

As I've said in this thread, there isn't an easy team in this division, especially if Texas hadn't have lost Darvish.
And now the Angles are challenging the money they have to pay Hamilton, disrupting them further .

You were just saying a few days ago the Padres were tough on the Giants--you were right--any pitcher would want to pitch there.

We have at least two here for the Cubs--Castro at the bigs and A. Russell ready to replace him at AAA.

AZ beats LA tonight--COL is 4-0--as I said earlier, the two Western divisions are by far the best.
We'll see when they stop playing each other and play other division.

Notice COL got an early break playing MIL and CHC . :lamo

Such a long season, not much can be inferred this early.
I'll hold off on making any seasonal analysis until the 40 game mark.
GO GIANTS!!

Bottom of the 18th in NYY tied 5-5 with a day game tomorrow.

By the 40-game mark, I'll already be back from my first Vegas trip and getting ready for the second one.

Lincecum looked good tonight--and he had a good spring.
Good thing I pay attention to THOSE stats also--your young SP Heston also had a good spring.
We'll see how bad Peavy's arm is--too bad about Belt getting hurt--they need SPs and have little of value to trade--you'd know their minors better than me .

So far, so good with Lincecum.
Consistency has been Tim's problem over the last few years.
When his control is good, he can still be very tough.
He pitched a no-hitter last year.

Good thing I pay attention to THOSE stats

Somebody's gotta do it.
The job is yours.;)

also--your young SP Heston also had a good spring.

The kid looks good so far.

Hudson pitched well in his first start, endurance will be his potential weakness.....Peavy and Cain do have health issues.
Petit pitched great in long relief last post-season and is a potential option as a starter.
Our outstanding young catcher, Susac, is in the minors and might be used as trade-bait.
He's too good a hitter though, so I doubt they'll move him.
The oft-injured Belt--I love him, but that's the reality--might be traded.
Posey could move to first base and Susac could move behind the plate.
I'm really more worried about offense.
New third baseman McGehee hasn't impressed at the plate or in the field.
I reiterate.....it is early and the indomitable Hunter Pence will return soon.:)

I've been watching balls and strikes on the espn gamecast app. It's stunning how terrible those calls are. The traditional strike zone is obsolete because they are calling balls half a foot low and off the plate strikes while anything dead center and above the belt is a ball.

not to mention that Sports Betting Odds, Statistics and Picks has a book on every umpire

With all the money the Yankees spend, it's hard to believe they let David Robertson get away.
Though just his first outing for a save, his breaking stuff is lights out .

I think it's going to be a looooong year for the NY Yankees. Their pitching staff is very suspect, and their offense is aging. The AL East is weak though, so that will help them. But they have a ton of ? marks.

One can only hope.

I know it's too early, but it looks like a nice 3-way race between TOR, BAL, and BOS.
I've underestimated TOR I believe, but wonder whether BOS has the SPs .

TOR and BOS will fall apart. Just watch. ;)

AL East is weak? Is that what all Yankee fans say when the Yankees suck?

Umm.. Yankees got Andrew Miller from the Orioles who was lights out all last year. 4 year $36m deal.

David Robertson

Andrew Miller

I'm not a Yankee fan. I'm just calling it like I see it. Boston is a huge ? mark. They finished dead last last year. Toronto, who knows? The Rays run is over. Baltimore should be the class of that division. But that's it. It's a pretty weak division.

I truly feel bad for you.. as PA boy myself.. I went to the closet team to me (grew up in Franklin County). The Orioles were good when I was younger, always making a run. Then 1999 came and I suffered for 12 years or so. Since 2012 I can't complain. Phillies are rebuilding but Nobody wants Hamels. His contract is horrible and Phillies are gonna have to eat alot of money and get few prospects in return.
