Post a brief bio guys and gals!

I joined the Army in March 2000 and went to basic training at Ft. Jackson, SC 3/13th infantry regiment. My first duty station was 17th Signal Battalion in Kitzingen, Germany for 2 years. Then I was reassigned to Ft Lewis, WA 29th Signal Battalion where I deployed in support of CJSOTF-AP for the later part of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 1 and the majority of OIF 2 at LSA Anaconda. After a 8 month hiatus back here in the states my unit deployed again, this time in support of 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment. We spent the majority of OIF 05-07 in Tal Afar at FOB Sykes. Once I returned to the states I was put on a Homeland Defense Team in support of FEMA for the last 9 months until I was reassigned to Miami, FL at US Southern Command December 2007 where I am currently serving as a Plans and Operations NCO waiting for reassignment to Ft Bliss, TX. (I can't handle this office type assignment I joined to be outside not inside)

I am currently a Staff Sergeant but made the list for Sergeant First Class (E7) and "should" be pinned on Sep 1.

Now its your turn.

I swore into the Air Force's DEP on September 14, 2001. And no, I didn't make a snap decision to join because of 9/11...a lot of people have assumed that, but I had been talking to recruiters for about a month at that point. Shipped out for Basic Training at Lackland AFB in TX on October 30, 2001. Graduated December 18, 2001, and went to Keesler AFB for my tech school - Ground Radio Maintenance. Graduated in August 2002 and was assigned to the 4th Communications Squadron at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC.

I got married in January 2003 - hubby was in the Army down at Ft. Bragg. He deployed two weeks after we got married, so I stayed at Seymour Johnson until August 2003, when I transferred down to the 43rd Communications Squadron at Pope AFB. Sometime in 2004, I switched over to our Maintenance Control office and stayed there until I separated in 2005. I only made it up to E-4; I could have tested for SSgt, but I knew I wasn't going to reenlist in order to be able to pin it on, so I chose not to. And now I'm on IRR status until next year.

Nothing super exciting about my brief career. I came up for deployment a couple of times, but there was always someone else that was just itching to go, so I stayed in the States.

I graduated Gymnasium (High School) in two years and was enrolled in the IDF Talpiot program. Commissioned a Séren (Captain) and assigned to the 200 Squadron (UAV) at the Palmachim Air Force Base near Tel Aviv.

MOS - CAS/FAC/UAV-Weapons System Officer. Deployed in Gaza (x2) and Lebanon. Promoted to Rav Séren (Major). Placed on permanent Reserve status in 2007.

I enlisted in the US Navy in the fall of 1993 and shipped out to Orlando NTC in the summer of 1994. I finished basic training and came out immediately moved into the Nuke School as planned. In the fall, I was entered for OCS and was intended to go that spring.

In January of 1995 I was in a car accident that left me with a broken femur that was repaired with a steel rod from hip to knee. I was given a medical discharge for that injury despite my protests.

I suffer no disability from that injury. Since graduating college at NCSU, the Navy has attempted to recruit me for OCS twice. I have refused.

I enlisted in the British Army 1988, aged 16 [A boy solder]. After passing my entrance exam and physical i chose, against my fathers wishes to join the Coldstream Guards. I had done reasonably well being offered an array of "trade" type career paths but "NO" i wanted adventure, excitement. This i surely got, completing three tours of active duty

Northern Ireland 90

Gulf War 91

Bosnia 92/93

I have since left and took a completely different route, although still within the defense industry, as a civilian.
One i miss is that buzz and the camaraderie that service life brings. I suppose that void has now been filled by my beautiful wife and kids:cool:

But boy would i like one last tour:)

Paul.

10 Year Veteran US Navy. AG2(AW) Mr. Vicchio :P

Joined in 1995, out in 2005. I originally enlisted as an AC (Airtraffic control) and moved over to Aerographers Mate (weather guesser to you civvies out there) 6 months between Boot and A School, 2 years at NAS Corpus, 4.5 years USS Inchon (MCS-12) Decommed and 3 years NAS Brunswick Maine.

I now work the computer labs at UTSA.

I might go back into the service, Army this time, next year, waiting to see who wins the election.

Nobody has ever been to the SHAPE?

Saw a gaggle of girls around a Marine recruiter(in his dress blues of course) at a job fair, and I knew that was the job for me. Enlisted in 99, served 5 years active duty as an Avionics Tech on F/A-18 Hornets and finished my enlistment as an E-5(Sgt). Veteran of OSW and OIF, along with several other peacetime deployments.

To anybody who may be considering the Marines in the future, the Dress Blues work EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I just noticed this part of your post, who is the person you want elected in order to reenter service?

BTW, Army is the way to go!

The candidate least likely to cut and run for personal political gain and cause he has no balls. If I am gonna sign up, the last thing I want to do is be maimed, killed or lose comrades only to have the spineless one pull a Clinton and run for cover.

Small world, who do you work for? I have been to a couple contracted schools. As a matter of fact the best course I have ever been to was a civilian contract school GRYPHON GROUP SECURITY SOLUTIONS,INC. - Executive Protection / Force Protection

I don't know which was worse having to taze your buddy or being tazed by your buddy... actually it was definately worse being tazed. :rofl Although I would take 10 tazings to 1 good spray with OC.

Oh the former.... most definatley the former......

Oh, BTW, for some reason I can't edit my original post.

But, I (of course) got screwed hard and will not be going to Fort Bliss, instead I am going to Fort Riley for 2 months training and then a tour on a Transition Team (appearantly this is the new standard for E7s:doh)... I just hope this time I get to go to Afghanistan, I think I might have seen every decent city in Iraq and from what I hear Af has got some sweet ass country side.

 that guy was brutal sprayed that **** RIGHT in his eye.....

i am sure 5.3 is gonna leave some blisters.....

i could watch that all day....

yup blisters

I don't think I have ever had that many glands discharging fluid in my head trying to flush that **** out! I swear my ears were running!

When they got us we had to go and do a convoy drill about 30 minutes later... I couldn't see ****, not to mention we were wearing the stupid sim helmets ensuring your sweat reactivated the OC over and over... :doh

They are straight up sadistic at that school, while your driving around blind you are in a vehicle with no windows (cause glass don't stop bullets) getting pelted with tuned up paint ball guns... I wonder why they didn't show that in the introductory video:confused::mrgreen:

i am sure it wasnt 5.3... i was watered down training spray. just wanted to make the kid look even dumber. :D

Went into Navy DEP in June '98.

Went to bootcamp at Great Lakes in Sept. '98.

Got to Nuke School in SC in Dec. '98, started MM A school in Jan 99, classed up for power school around June '99. Went to upstate NY for Prototype training in Dec '99. Graduated nuke school June 2000.

Reported to the USS Abraham Lincoln out of Everett, WA July 2000. Left the following month for West Pac. Ended up only getting to pull into San Diego on the way to the Gulf and Jebel Ali once just before the Cole got hit, and a second time for Christmas (but the whole crew was restricted to the pier). Liberty in Perth, Aust and Hobart, Tasmania on way back. Did a small cruise to Victoria, Canada. Did another West Pac starting in July 2002. Got to see Hawaii for the first time on the way out. Also got to visit Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore on the way to support OEF. I broke my nose on the way out of Hong Kong. Went into the Gulf, and liberty in Bahrain a couple of times. On our way home, we visited Perth once, went back for Christmas to await Congress's answer to whether we would be going back to the Gulf, then got turned back to Perth to repair our flight deck on New Year's Day just before getting to Guam. Spent 2 wks in Perth for repairs, then went to the Gulf for OIF. Finally got home in May '03, after having Pres. Bush onboard while just off the coast of San Diego. Went out again in Oct. '04 for a "surge deployment". Flown off the boat to Japan to transfer to Pearl Harbor, HA in Dec. '04.

Reported to Pearl Jan '05. Ended my enlistment in June '08 because I would have been back on a carrier or with my current pregnancy, stuck in HA.

I've put in my paperwork for Navy Reserves, and will swear the oath again once it comes back approved.

Joined the navy in June of 2000 and reported for basic training in Great Lakes Il. After which I was sent to Airman ATD school in Pensacola Fl. Reported to my first command VS-35 Blue wolves and S-3 Squadron out of NASNI. Went on my first deployment with the Abraham Lincoln BG, spent all my time on the mess decks though, lol. In 01 I was sent to OS "A" School in virginia beach Va. After which I reported aboard the USS Mobile Bay CG-53. Did two more deployments to the persian gulf. Was in the war when it began (10 1/2 month deployment) Then transfered to USS Decatur DDG-73 out of San Diego. Did one deployment with her. Now I am stationed with NAVREGNW out of bangor Wa. I am currently an E-5 and get out in OCT of 2010.
