Midterm Elections

What will the ouutcome of the 2020 midterms be?

  • Total voters
    49
  • Poll closed .
I am an Austrian, therefore I don't know what is going on in the heads of US voters ...

I predict very small gains for Republicans based on historical trends for midterms, but it would be nice if Democrats actually "win" based on abortion/rights backlash.

Abortion is like 6th or 7th on the list with voter concerns.

This Pew poll is a few months old, but voter concerns haven't changed much since August..

I like realclearpolitics.com for their reviews and data reviews. They predict +3 GOP pickups in the Senate:

If election polling taught us anything, it's that Democrat support is typically +3-4% overrepresented in opinion polls. My hypothesis is that due to social/political persecution that GOP voters are less likely to participate in opinion polls and so on Election Day the actual polling numbers reflect higher results for GOP candidates.

I also think the GOP will pick up the House:

This will spell trouble for Biden-Harris as the House and Senate will likely investigate them and issue impeachment articles.

^^^Finally, moving in the right direction.

Small republican win.

It will not be a red wave, but it will also not be an exception to the rule regarding the Presidents party and midterm elections.

It's two weeks away. What do you predict?

I think all of the government overreach and spending will kill the democrats in Nov......inflation and high gas prices with the push towards EV's without the proper infrastructure in place is a killer to the dems chances, also. While these are important, serious policy avenues the left went down, the biggest thing which will destroy the democrats chances in Nov. are their social changes they wish to push on America.....keeping parents in check, destroying women sports, girls are boys and boys are girls.....these type of social issues will haunt them for a long time. I look for a red wave.....the left had their chance and blew it, big time.

^^^Exactly.

See how they use propaganda to project and brainwash?

The media lies, twists the narrative, and plays victim, while victimizing.

Time to wake up.

Abortion merely went back to the States where it belongs. The federal government has no place in making blanket rulings on such personal decisions and should be closer to the people. Abortion has not ended and has only shown which party sides with the destruction of unwanted babies.

Fetterman is a useless dolt who lived off mommy and daddy till he was like 49 years old?
thats what the attack ads say, millions of Pennsylvanians that have already been served by him seem to disagree 🤷🏽‍♂️

I pity your choices in that Senate race. It does look pretty grim for Fetterman but Oz is no prize.

Id rather have two great candidates but we'll be just fine with Fetterman, in reality, he gets PA 🤷‍♂️

Never, ever, underestimate the democrat party's ability to cheat. What we pulled off in 2020 was nothing. 600 million americans are about to vote only for democrats in a couple of weeks.
What I don't underestimate is the D's ability ti snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. If D's lose it'll be from not appealing to the blue collar workers that should be their base. Letting their message be to cerebral & allowing the 1%er party to claim love for the working class, while simultaneously claiming credit for Democratic projects.
Maybe prochoice women & men can have a history making effect.

You could be right but Fetterman's chances do not look good.

Fetterman literally had a debate where he couldn't speak. Sadly, he's medically unfit to be in the Senate and has no real work experience. Oz is also a joke, but better an R in office than a D given the current administration. The choice is between your typical corrupt Democrat perpetuating the toxic Democrat policies and a snake oil salesman from New Jersey.

See how long that grip lasts. Do you know what "toxic" means?

I am aware of his medical problems. That is not a bar to his election.

Dead people, ie candidates who died between primary and election day, have been elected in the past. If he is elected and unable to assume office, there is a process to replace him.

his chances look just fine to me but we'll never know until after its all said and done
Ive actually see a lot of signs for him and none for OZ which i also find weird because typically the left aren't sign people around here . . . .he is a popular guy
again id rather have better choices but for my states sake i don't want OZ and Mastrino anywhere near office

There is a difference between propaganda and facts. My state just rubber stamps Democrats because it's probably the most solid blue state in the union.
