Microsoft no longer lets you opt-out of a Windows 10 upgrade

If you haven’t already updated your computer to Windows 10 and it is eligible for a free upgrade, then prepare yourself for more aggressive update notifications that no longer give you the ability to opt-out. Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users are reporting popups that inform them their Windows 10 upgrade will be installed in one hour. Users have the option to start the process immediately or reschedule it, but there is no longer an option to opt-out of upgrading altogether, ZDNet reports. Not even GWX Control Panel, a third-party tool that allowed Windows users to avoid the upgrade before, is able to sidestep these notifications at present, according to the app’s creator, Josh Mayfield.

Heard about this...Good thing I chose to delay the last update, I probably wouldn't have paid attention...

I am completely opposed to Windows 10 because of the spying software that's on there that tries to block you from torrenting.... I don't even torrent but I think it's completely uncalled for...and a violation of privacy

I was told we need to uninstall all the old windows before installing 10 .

Only if there is a problem, otherwise the update utility pretty much handles everything.

Heinous!

I'd like to see this one in the courts.

A while ago I just shut off the whole update thingy. I'm not having any problems.

I swear to GOD! My damned computer is set up PERFECTLY. I have all my programs and files hwere they need to be, configured how they need to be, and I've been beyond pissed with Microcock ever since they started harassing me over Windows 10.

I'm sick of the ****ing pop ups.

And if they dare ****ing jack with my **** I will go APPLE. I swear to ****ing god I'll do it. I'll bootstrap to hell and back.

It was a mistake on some systems (very few) that has been corrected.

I've torrented a bunch of things since I got 10.

Upgrading to 10 has not worked for me.

Ahahaha, even Apple doesn't do that to you.

To all haters:
I just bought a brand new laptop last week with Windows 10 OS and Edge browser.

Luckily it is easy to download a replacement for the awful Edge browser.

Why so picky? If it does what you needed then that's it.
