It is reported that the first lady felt 'short-changed' by Ricardel over government resources allocated to her Africa trip and was angered when Ricardel disparaged two of her aides.

Melania is also said to suspect that Ricardel was leaking stories to the press misrepresenting the spat.

The quarrel between the first lady and deputy national security adviser Mira Ricardel apparently began during a trip Trump took to Africa last month. Two officials told USA TODAY that Ricardel argued with Trump's staff over airplane seating for the first lady's trip.

They accused Ricardel, who wound up not going to Africa, of spreading false stories about the incident. The officials said Ricardel had clashed with other staff members as well.

Lol...imagine the rights outrage if it had been Mrs. Obama in an almost naked risqué pose while flying on an airplane with her husband; or posing sans clothing in GQ magazine; or appearing on Howard Sterns shock show with her husband. Never mind that these events occurred before she became FLOTUS. The right and their evangelical groupies would have crucified the Obamas endlessly and the country would have elected someone else. Hypocrisy..double standard? You bet. My hats off to anyone of color brave enough to run for high political office.

If you recall in her ABC interview she revealed there were aides in the WH she did not trust. Well guess what, we now know who one of them is and from what is being reported with good reason.

Edit- the amount of effort our First Lady has put into the opiod crisis is commendable and yet it isn't covered in the mainstream media. I remember Michelle Obama showing up at a fastfood joint working the drive through window and that was dah bomb!

All the major outlets reported on the First Lady kicking off her BE BEST with a visit to hospitalized children of opioid addicts. There was one visit in October.
Michelle Obama worked tirelessly for many causes.
There's no need to compare them so peevishly. They both do what they are capable of.

Give it a rest. What the media has done to our First Lady Melania from day one has been nothing but snide remarks, petty negative crap to starting conspiracy theories over her absence during her time in the hospital for a kidney procedure. They have mocked everything that woman has initiated as First Lady.


You know our First Lady is very attractive and she dresses to the nines so name a magazine cover where she has been highlighted in a supportive way? You can't. But the previous First Lady graced the covers of over 200 magazines during Obama's reign. It is overwhelming clear the media is not willing to be fair to her. It's a shame because the things she is engaged in are to benefit our country.

Give what a rest precisely? Do you not like it pointed out that you misspoke about Melania's involvement in the opioid crisis?

I think the media has pretty much left Melania alone, considering she is married to a man who lives on provoking reactions constantly, and claims the media is an enemy. What exactly has she initiated? Truth be told BE BEST sounds much like a theme Michelle Obama repeated, which was BE BETTER. BE BEST was initiated with a pamphlet published during the Obama administration. Which is all fine, Melania does not have to do anything....but there is little to be making a fuss over. I recall her getting a lot of good press over her handling personally the details of the first State Dinner.

To grace the cover of a magazine, Melania would have to give an interview, and that would have to be important enough to sell the magazine. She has avoided any activities that might be the least interesting. She didn't move to Washington for the first 6 months, and has travelled separately from her husband who's history is a continuous humiliation to her. Until her very recent interview she refused them.

Vanity Fair in fact did feature her on the cover early on, but there was a huge backlash due to some of the policy her husband was spouting at the time. Most of the literate magazine purchasing public don't care for him much.
 
the good news is since Michelle has just published her book there is now material for Melania to use for her own
