The Chicago-based burger chain — which cited “strategic menu price increases” as it revealed on Monday that its revenue surged 14% in the latest quarter — already has been hiking prices nationwide amid rampant inflation, including charging $18 for a Big Mac meal at a location in Connecticut.

Surging prices have forced consumers to pare back spending on fast food, according to McDonald’s executives.

Fewer Americans earning $45,000 or less have been frequenting McDonald’s locations this past quarter, according to the company.

More proof that California is in the shitter. Good job, dems!

Gosh, you mean they didn't absorb the labor cost increase by taking it out of executive bonuses? Someone should tell Governor Newsom about this.

This is good news. The fewer people buying fast food, the better. Make it so expensive that it's unaffordable. Then people will stop eating it.

1. I just recently discovered Chipotle (via a delivery service).

2. The food seems to be of good quality.

3. So I feel that customers should be willing to pay more.

a. Workers in all occupations are demanding higher wages. (They should in this expensive economy.)
b. They are demanding health coverage. (They should.)
c. And the restaurants have to pay more for the food they cook. (So the cost has to be passed along.)

4. Yes, the chains should pay lower salaries to their CEOS. (But that does not seem to be part of the zeitgeist.)

Generic profit-taking.

Someone should tell their rival chains about that.

Sounds like an opportunity to undercut the market prices for a few years and establish greater market share.

For the most part, they're paid what they're worth. It's an incredibly hard and important job.

inorite?

Musk has three of those CEO jobs and can barely find the time to **** around on Twitter.
Can you imagine if Musk had the luxury of working three regular jobs instead?
Musk would really be ****ing around on Twitter if he had all of that free time.

Can't have that. People don't seem to mind a ceo making millions but have a problem with the people on the front lines making a bit more.

Yeah, why do Trumpsters hate the working class?

It's not so much that.

Trumper's hate it when their Big Mac goes up by 10 cents. That adds up to a few hundred dollars a month in extra food costs for them.

Actually thats where you hang out if you eat at either of those places.

But we need to screw employees wherever possible amirite!
