MARIJUANA!! The Truth!

You don't sound like you've ever smoked pot before. Pot doesn't make you do stuff you know is wrong. You're not in some kind of screwed up state where you can't help yourself but get in the car. When you drive while high it is a conscious decision, and just like if you were on heavy medication, drunk, or huffing paint, you will bear the entire responsibility and consequences of that.

You blamed the comic book and not the person. Shame on you for not recognizing personal responsibility.
Without the comic book the accident would not have happened, it would be cynical to say the comic book holds no part in the action. I have been around MANY friends under the influence of marijuana, it's a mind altering substance, and I noticed markedly lower inhibitions. I have never used marijuana, nor will I ever stoop down to the level of altering my perception of reality, even for a brief sojourn.

Good, admitting that you've never tried it, we now know for certain that you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Marijuana is less inhibition inhibiting than alcohol, by far. I have gotten unbelievably high, and there was no point where I ever felt out of control. You've made opinions about something you know nothing about, and you blame that object instead of some of the people misusing it.

I've never done cocaine, so I don't go around on internet forums telling cocaine users what they do and don't feel on it, or that I think they should be in jail.

Have you ever murdered someone? Therefore you shouldn't argue against it. That's about how much validity there is in saying that I shouldn't have any say in the inhibitory effects of marijuana when I've been around countless individuals being influenced by it. They have always been much more willing to do ignorant things while using it, I have seen it on several occasions.

Marijuana didn't kill anyone, the person driving under the influence did, that was the crime, not the purchase of weed.
This is true, as guns don't kill people, either. People kill people.

Marijuana can have many positive benefits for children and adults regardless of age, it's been proven that caffeine is more addictive than marijuana....

I don't completely disagree with your post.

And for the record, I'm in favor of the legalization of marijuana. In fact, I'm in favor of the legalization of every drug known to humankind. I know, I know, that sounds extreme. But I have my reasons and I don't want to elaborate in this post. There is a caveat involved, however: Regulation Requirements.

Obviously we don't want to be in a plane piloted by a stoned out of his or her mind pilot. We don't want surgery preformed on us by a surgeon tripping out on acid...and so-forth. In other words, we would all still have to be responsible and accountable for our behavior...regardless of our state of mind, which might be altered by some chemical consumption.

We don't want to ignore the reality that with all mind altering chemicals there is always the chance of being affected by varying degrees of physical and psychological addiction. With pot...psychological addiction appears to be substantially more common than any level of physical addiction.

Also...I haven't had any type of mind altering chemical, other than prescribed (which I've never abused) for over 27 years. I'm one of the folks that is addicted to everything that makes one feel good. That includes the air in my tires. My problems with addiction is the exception...not the rule for most people. Yes, if all drugs were legal society would have some problems along the way, but I believe in the end...those problems will be resolved.

Did you just claim that someone else using marijuana is just like you being murdered? Your rights aren't being violated, you're just whining like a little b**** because you want to tell people what to do.

I was arguing against your point that because one lacks experience in doing the activity, that one shouldn't argue against the activity. Which is an extraordinarily invalid point. My rights aren't being violated, but when I hear a friend talking about how they use marijuana to block out their problems, which is nothing but prevarication and only extends the problems "psychological problems, not as a pain killer"; yes, I do have a problem with the usage of marijuana. I have never insinuated in my argument that I wished to tell someone what to do, and you're just as qualified to be a "little bitch" because you have just told me what to do in saying that I "want to tell people what to do", which is a dogmatic and ludricrous statement based on nothing but my objections to the usage of a drug that emerses an individual into a fake reality.

No, what I said is you're arguing about something you know nothing about, whether from experience, nor actual knowledge. You made your views abundantly clear when you compared a victimless crime that doesn't effect you to you being murdered.

So your friend abuses the drug, why does that mean that it needs to be illegal because a few bad seeds abuse it? Health wise his choice of marijuana is far, far healthier than abuse of alcohol, tobacco, or any other drug. Also keeping in mind, there are some problems that can't be fixed, so there are times when the only thing one can do is use something to relax and try to forget about it.

Cannabis is a wonderful plant, with an unbelievable number of uses both in medicine, recreational activities and industry. Insanely ignorant people like you are only slowing down the inevitable.

I've never stated in my argument that I was even against the legalization of marijuana, to me at least, legalization is much more ideal than the prohibition. If marijuana did not distort one's view of reality, then there would be legitimately no reason to use it. I have never in my posts stated that marijuana should be kept illegal, but I disagree with the usage of it for non-medicinal purposes. Trying to forget about something doesn't make it go away, it's prevarication, and it's not a solution by even the slightest means. I'm also curious as to why you are resulting to personal insults? It's completely unnecessary, and downright low for any respectable discussion. Marijuana has been suggested by medical personnel, psychologists, psychiatrists, as well as others, to slow down reaction time which is dangerous in any situation. It also can distort a sense of time, cause paranoia, temporary short-term memory loss, and withdrawal symptoms have been suggested to include depression as well as heightened aggression in 1/12 casual users. While this is nowhere near the negative effects of alcohol consumption, it's far worse than a "victimless crime" the victims are the users themselves.
