A 51-year-old man was found dead in the cab of a tractor trailer, about a block away from where a crowd of police, protesters and reporters gathered just before the citywide curfew went into effect Thursday night, police said.lRelatedBALTIMORE CITYFive shot Thursday as violence in west Baltimore surgesSEE ALL RELATED

The man was not identified, and police labeled his death "suspicious." Officers found the body, which showed no obvious signs of trauma or foul play, in the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Ave. at about 9:30 p.m., police said.

Carbon monoxide poisoning while he slept. Most of the time they leave the engine running and some sort of heat or a/c on. If it was an older semi as well. Not a lot of information yet.So what do y'all make of this? Since the whole Freddie Grey thing is now being driven by wild speculation, does anyone think this is related? And if it is, what does that say about policing in the area? Sounds awfully safe when cops time is diverted to handle other things doesn't it....?

I was just thinking about coming back and commenting that their lifestyle and diet could easily lead to heart attack, also many are meth heads and/or take other intense stimulants that could also lead to a "natural" death by heart attack.Without any further information, I'd say 51 year old men, particularly those in occupations like long distance truck driving, die of heart attacks every day. Without any obvious signs of foul play or trauma, natural cause death is likely.

Not anymore they don't....Most, are equipped today with separate APU units that provide heat, and AC...Truck engines running all night is a thing of the past.

What the heck is a 'CVS'?
I lived in one's house for a year just a year and a half ago? He had lots of trucker buddies.:doh What in the hell are you talking about? Where do you get your information? From Smokey and the Bandit? Good grief....Truck drivers are regulated and tested tougher than Airline pilots....Good god, please don't smear us.
She did say older semis though.

Or do you mean CV's (combat vehicle)?

From the article .
Doesn't sound like he was beaten or shot from the report that he didn't show any obvious signs of trauma or foul play. They said they will do an autopsy which may explain his death. Am really not certain what this thread is about.
How about we wait until we see an autopsy report for we decide the story.
Good, I've been an OTR trucker for 21 years now....I think I have a pretty good handle on what's going on out there.
We shall have to wait and see, but Homocide dectives were on the scene last night, and labeled the death "suspicious".... So, I guess my point is, if we have to wait for the facts about this truck driver, then why not in Grey's death? Did the thugs kill him?
Homicide detectives are always called when someone dies in an unexplained way, in order to collect evidence just in case the death was the result of criminality. A coroner's report will clear things up pretty quickly. If it wasn't natural causes, then the conjecture can run wild. I'm betting it's natural causes.
As an aside, I don't think this death and the Gray death are even remotely similar. It is a very rare occurrence that a prisoner dies in custody and as such a great deal of investigation takes place, often taking months. We have one here in Canada that's been the subject of an inquest for years - but no rioting here, just saying.
The truck shown was at least a 2012 Freightliner....Not "older" enough to not have an APU. Just sayin'
Probably not even protests, right? I have to ask, was the prisoner part of a group that's been routinely abused by the police and penal system as the impoverished and especially non-white impoverished have been here in the States?
You can, "just say" all you want, but before you imply a valid comparison, it'd be important to know and share more details.
Did the thugs kill him?
