Man caught on video attacking pro-life protesters gets slap on wrist by judge

Just why was this man released after such a violent attack.

And the friend who rushed to help his buddy gets knocked out and kicked in the face.

"A 28-year-old man who was caught on video attacking two pro-life activists outside a Planned Parenthood clinic in Baltimore was sentenced this week to a year of home detention and three years of probation.

Baltimore Circuit Judge Yvette M. Bryant rebuffed prosecutors’ calls for a 10-year sentence against Patrick Brice, 28, after he was found guilty of two counts of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment in relation to the May 2023 incident, according to The Baltimore Banner.

"What about my rights and my well-being?" one of the victims in the attack, Mark Crosby -- who was 73 years old at the time -- reportedly shouted at Bryant on Thursday as she left the bench.

Brice said on May 26, 2023, he intended to debate Richard Schaefer – the other victim, who was 84 – about the concept of sin outside the Planned Parenthood facility, but then lost it after Schaefer made what he perceived to be a racial remark, The Baltimore Banner reported. Surveillance video showed Brice shoving Schaefer into a flowerpot and then assaulting Crosby when he rushed to his aid."

This is another example of why it is IMPOSSIBLE to have an honest and reasonable discussion with leftists. They utterly IGNORE all facts and reality. If the leftist is pro-choice and a violent leftist viciously, and without provocation, attacks a peacefully protesting pro-life person, the leftist will always side with the violent attacker.

I've watched those videos. Regardless of what you think of the people who were attacked, that claim is utter BS. It was clearly a deliberate, fairly brutal, assault against elderly people.

Here, for example. Having rushed up and knocked his elderly victim to the ground, the attacker is rearing back to kick them in the face, while his victim tries to curl into the fetal position.

This is also really stupid for the Left, even if it lets a violent criminal continue targeting elderly persons he doesn't like. When the Liberals refuses to enforce the law, the Country will eventually elect Fascists to do it, instead. Hope this guy and this judge enjoys their future time in Alligator Alcatraz or torture prisons in El Salvadore. We can just tell them that the agents who sent them there didn't have intent to harm them by do so.

Trial? Why should they get trials? Trials are for innocent people, not bad people (defined as "people I don't like"). Rule of Law Schmool of Law, right?

This was flat out assault. The sentence is absurd but certain judges LOVE to let criminals off as long as said criminal holds politically left wing beliefs.

A big part of the problem was the jury declining to convict for first degree assault, presumably based on the injuries not being deemed ‘serious’.

I’ll change it if it bothers you. It is a private joke with myself. A long time ago, I started a short sci-fi story about a person who recorded himself being an asshole and uploading it for views to make money. I lost interest and never finished it. Turns out, events made it no longer speculative.

The title of the unfinished, now pedestrian story is “A$$hole.”

It seems rather ironic and hypocritical the victim complains about his rights while advocating pregnant women lose their rights and autonomy just for being pregnant.

Maybe they didn't agree there was clear intent to cause serious bodily harm. It was one tackle, one punch, and one kick. then he walked away. There's no excuse for that, but maybe 1st degree assault would've been an overcharge and he gets away scott free.

A first time offender of 2nd degree assault with no weapon involved rarely gets the max of 10 years. In that scenario, supervised probation in lieu of jail time is actually fairly common. Yes the victims were elderly, but he wasn't charged with elder abuse.

Dude's not out of the woods yet. From the sounds of it, he probably has at least one gigantic civil suit coming his way.

Ironically, they do consider the person inside the pregnant woman human so they aren’t complete pieces of shit.
 
I've seen worse assaults at bar closing time.

Anyone know where the judge's ruling can be found? That will tell us what evidence and precedents were considered in his/her decision.

Funny how often I see people try to make moral arguments over abortion. But abortion is a medical and legal issue. As such, abortion is an issue between a woman and her doctor and no one else's business or concern. Neither is there any rational or real basis to restrict abortion. The problem is politics getting in the middle.

Where is the "right to life" enumerated in the Constitution? The unborn do not have rights to begin with, so there is nocompetition. Rights are a legal matter. Political is the problem.

It is my understanding that the enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.
