Not everywhere is like this. Last year, my family and I left the US to spend time in Northern Ireland, a place not historically known for its peace. As we enrolled my son for school in downtown Belfast, he asked the school principal to describe the school drills. She looked a bit puzzled. She told him about the fire drill. And he asked her "do you have unsafe person drills"?
As he asked us, all of our faces crumpled. "No, love," she said. "No, we do not." And: they don't. Like other developed countries, like most other countries, period, they don't now expect that people might come into their schools and shoot their children.
Here's an interesting op-ed to chew on.
Do we love our guns more than our children?
Yes, folks. Europe has something we do not. Sanity. And, the key to our insanity is made of steel and was designed to spit out lead.

Hey, hey, hey . . . no "hitting" bullseyes. :lamoBecause I love children I enjoy teaching them how to use guns correctly. The excitement when a kid gets their first bullseye can be life changing and a confidence builder.
A more accurate title would be "Hating guns more than loving children."
A "gun free" sign has yet to save one child's life. Guns have saved thousands.

lol...guns take away almost 40,000 lives a year.
Note the uptick since the Rightie nuts on SCOTUS removed all the restrictions.
You know what Europe has also had? Multiple tyrannical governments and an actual increase in gun crimes so....
So the question is why are people killing themselves and what can we do about it?
As far as the homicides, 50% are young men, the next highest portion of homicides are domestic violence related. So the questions we should be asking ourselves regarding homicides, wtf are the root causes of violence with young men and domestic violence and what are the best ways to address those problems.

The graph in post 12 shows a nice uptick in gun crimes. And guess what. It ain’t in Europe.
That's a chart of raw data, ignoring the increase in population. A more accurate chart would show a homicide rate per 100k population, which admittedly would still show an increase in rate in the last few years. What changed that instigated an increase in the homicide rate starting in 2015?

Republicans took over both Houses in Congress.
Republicans took over both Houses in Congress.
How, exactly, did that cause an increase of homicide rates in big blue cities?
