The anti-Trump hysterical protesting seems to be dying down now. Liberals gone batty over the Trump victory, went crazy during the transition period. Like spoiled, bratty kids not getting their way, they through tantrums all across America.

They are about to discover that their tantrums were a little too early. For them the worst is yet to come. Two conservative judges are about to join the SCOTUS. First, Gorsuch replacing Scalia, and next in June, another replacing Kennedy.

This will give conservatives a majority on the court. Then all of President Trump’s wishes, (Muslim ban, imprisoning sanctuary city leaders, ban of abortion on demand, full gun freedom, etc), will become reality.

But that is just the start of the liberal nightmare. After this, it won’t be long before Ruth Bader Ginsburg (well into her 80’s) will retire. Same with aging Breyer. Trump will again appoint 2 more conservatives, from the very conservative list he announced during the campaign.

Even this isn’t the last word on it. With conservatives then having a solid lock on the SCOTUS, it won't be long before Sotomayer and Kagan grow tired of constantly being outvoted. They will see their 2 liberal votes having no effect, and will soon drop out, and take jobs in other courts, or teaching, where they’ll think they can do some “good”.

They’ll also be replaced by conservatives, and liberals will have their worst nightmare >> > a 100% conservative Supreme Court. Only thing is, this won’t be a “nightmare”. It’s really happening – unfolding right now.

Make sure to set out your milk and cookies for Santa or he won't bring you your SCOTUS presents.

I think the chances that Ginsburg, Breyer, Sotomayor, or Kagan resign during a Trump presidency is close to 0%. Especially if it will fundamentally alter the Court in a way that will destroy much of what they believe in. Ginsburg is of course getting up there, so I there's certainly a chance she doesn't make it until the end of Trump's administration, but I seriously doubt she resigns.

Mostly accurate, but health may overrule that desire. If, somehow, Trump won a second term, then all bets are off.

Well, isn't it fascinating that you find the important part of a more conservative court that liberals won't like it...

I suppose serious health issues may force them off short of death. But I would think it would have to be very serious for them to retire and put a relatively young 6-3 Conservative majority on the Court.

Trump could have another vacancy or maybe two in his first term.
I don't see much more than that.

If Trump wins a second term then frankly we deserve whatever we get.

Ahhh how eager you are to orgasm at the thought of two conservatives joining the Court. I do recall a 'conservative' voting to allow the ACA to proceed and he was a 'true' conservative when BushII appointed him to be Chief justice...

I'll hope the Justices honor the Constitution and precedent more than rabid right masturbation material. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for your wish list coming to pass... or wait, do holding your breath... eace

OP is childish babbling. Thread spam of mindless crap.

I don't think he will but then I didn't think he'd win this one so....*shrug*

Yeah, any discussion about anything involving Trump needs to involve caveats. If he should somehow win a second term. If he really means it when he says something. Depending on how many flips he flops. That kind of thing.

I mean, if he did and the only thing he accomplished was making appointments like his last one, I'd be happy. I'm just worried about all the other stuff he'd do aside from that.

Quite true. The continued spasms and convulsions of the left in reaction to the Trump election win has been nothing short of absolute dis-functionality. Yet, these people continue to believe that Hillary should be president. If her campaign is any indication of her leadership and management abilities then any reasonable thinking person would have to agree that the better candidate, leader, manager has won. Much of the detractions and distractions have been media invented or land mines purposefully left over from the previous admin (yes, that pesky party over nation once again from Obama).

They are about to discover that their tantrums were a little too early. For them the worst is yet to come. Two conservative judges are about to join the SCOTUS. First, Gorsuch replacing Scalia, and next in June, another replacing Kennedy.

Of all the branches of the government, isn't it really the role of the judicial branch to be the conservative branch? Conservative in measuring the laws that are passed hold true and are compliant with the Constitution? To serve as the brake on the wildly swinging pendulum of the politics of the moment? Especially to prevent judicial activism from abusing the power and responsibility that SCOTUS is instilled with?

This certainly seems to be the reasonable expectation to me.

This will give conservatives a majority on the court. Then all of President Trump’s wishes, (Muslim ban, imprisoning sanctuary city leaders, ban of abortion on demand, full gun freedom, etc), will become reality.

Maybe. Maybe not.

Possibly, but as more justices are replaced in your scenario, I do think the percentages of it unfolding as you describe go down.

Or Trump could exceed expectations and actually be a good president. Who knows. The future is unwritten, as of yet.

She only has to last 2 years and 8 months if the Dems take back the Senate. Precedent has been set.

I would love that to happen. But each day that passes I find it increasingly improbable.

That is almost as unlikely as Trump getting re-elected.

short of a major terrorist attack targetting the court I don't see 8 net vacancies to be filled with Trump appointees opening. replacing Kennedy will definitely tilt the court right, but not by too much.

You assume it's Kennedy, what if Ginsburg steps away....

It's a marathon and not a sprint. Seems to be a fair amount of persistence with Trump and this administration. Some of what you see as the daily spiral downward I see as a daily ebb and flow. Time will tell.

That is almost as unlikely as Trump getting re-elected.

With the Democrats and the DNC veering ever further to the left, might not be as unlikely as you might think.
