The South Dakota Attorney General's Office and Senate leaders are investigating allegations of wrongdoing involving a state lawmaker and an 18-year-old legislative page, officials confirmed Tuesday.

The father of a former page has accused Sen. Dan Sutton, D-Flandreau, of misconduct during the last legislative session, according to state Sen. Garry Moore.

Where's the hypocrisy? 18 yearold and 16 year old are very very different for one - legality. And finally he's condemned for doing so as well. The only hypocrisy thus far is your continued call for responsibilities and honesty while you do not condemn racism, pedophillia and corruption of any one who's a republican.

You do know that the age of consent in DC is 16, right? Foley committed no crime, just like this guy didn't. They both acted inappopriately, and as such, should resign, but neither one broke the law.

The same way that 36 other states declare the age of consent to be 16 or younger. If you have a problem with this law specific to DC, blame the overwhelmingly Democratic legislature.

So, now that you're aware that Foley broke no law in his actions, I'm assuming you'll drop your line of attack claiming that there's a difference between the situations and instead agree that in both cases, the persons involved should have resigned simply because their actions broke ethical codes.

I drop that there were any legal variances in the two. However I do not drop that there still remains a difference between the two 16 and 18 are still quite varied.
Also, how does democratic legislature have anything to do with it? California, NY both democratic heavy states, both require consenting age to be 18. That argument is neither here nor there in any validity.
