Legalized marijuana is spreading as attitudes change.

Sure, it's always about the money. There are health risks, and I don't give a **** about what anyone says. If they say smoking tobacco is bad for you, and pot isn't, they're full of ****.

True but it has been proven that pot is less hazardous than cigarettes.

All this legalization is a good thing but until the Feds cave, it will turn in to a game of whack-a-mole.

The booze companies could probably stall the Feds but OTOH why do they need to? You think everybody will switch? That, I seriously doubt. Different temperaments.

Big Booze has been fighting pot legalization for decades. They know it is a safer drug and much more easy to consume. No hangovers.

You really ought to read up on the differences between fat soluble drugs and water soluble drugs.

This might help you understand why a lot of highly successful businessmen, artists, scientists and inventors have been alcoholics, while serious pot heads tend to populate the permanent underclass.

The alcoholic tends to wake up sober. The serious pot head tends to wake up as a mental defective.

I disagree. I worked in engineering as a drafter and met many very smart people who drank and smoked pot. The airplanes we drew up flew just fine. Hoe many time have you had to work with a grouchy and hungover drunk? You can't tell me that does not happen. I even had a boss or two like that. Just look at how great progressive rock musicians like Yes,ELP,Pink Floyd,Rush or King Crimson play while high on pot. Pot does not make you stupid. Stupid makes you stupid.

I completely disagree. I can't even imagine you're serious. Pot stays in the system much longer but I've never even heard of a pot hangover and to say that booze has no hangover is, well, WTF.

As long as you stop smoking around 9 when you have to be in bed at ten you will not have a pot hangover. Yes pot stays in your system longer but that does not mean you are high. A failed drug test does not prove you are high or not.

I actually wasn't addressing you since I know you're a huge pot fan. I've smoked about 264637 pounds of pot in my lifetime and never had a hangover. Maybe I couldn't remember my name but so what - I just call myself Sir or Your Majesty.

You know as well as I do this should not be even debatable. All drugs should be treated the same. As long as you can do the job,pay your own way and follow the rules you should be allowed to use the drug you prefer. These double standards must end.

---------------

That's true.
"You wanna get stoned on my mom's menopause meds?" just doesn't have the same cool-factor as "You wanna get Thaied up?", does it?
See you around, HB.

I remember Thai stick. I love all the great sativa's. They get you high without making you forgetfull or hazy. Sativia was all we had before indica's started kicking up the power.

This is largely a myth.

As a working musician I've encountered far more instances of people who play like crap while high (or drunk) than I have of geniuses who've played better.

It's a good thing that I don't need your permission to debate whatever I like with whomever I want. I can also hold double standards when the suit me.

You know as well as I do that all drugs are treated differently. Why can I buy Mucinex but not Oxycontin under the same circumstances? They all come with whatever they do. Personally, alcohol makes me sick as a woof-woof:2dance: and pot does me no harm but that doesn't mean someone else might not experience something else.

Do you think all drugs should require a prescription? How about for methamphetamines? How about pot? How about Percocet? Viagra? Scope?

Who said anything about a "pot hangover?" Heavy pot users just stay pretty much idiots. Their usually unwashed bodies lack the time between infusions of the drug to filter it out.

Alcoholic hangovers come largely from dehydration and returning sensitivity as their bodies metabolize the alcohol and flush out the resulting toxins. Alcohol, that treacherous siren, abandons them to deal with the reality they have created.

Stupid often makes the defective want to be even more stupid.

Are those some sort of plebeian performers you cite? I'm not really up on popular culture.

Oh, I thought you did. Maybe I'm not as smart as I think I am.

I think you're being unfair in your anti-pot judgementalism. There are quite a few very bright, very successful people on this forum who do or did smoke lots of pot. There are millions of pot smokers who fulfill their roles in society very well. You can go to a big city park and find some unwashed, unkempt shaggy dudes who are stoned 24/7 and thin job is a 4 letter word and use them as your vision. But most of us function quite well in the mornings.

My most successful business ventured was inspired by pot and Pink Floyd. My least successful venture was started on something else, something less attractive. I think you might be surprised how many closeted pot smokers you know who don't include you because you're so disapproving? We are everywhere and all your base belong to us.

Never heard of Pink Floyd? I call 'bull****e'. It might even have been stupid for you to claim you haven't, unless you've devised a way to get internet access down that old mineshaft you've lived in for 30 years.

Legalized marijuana is inevitable.

But that's child's play, imo.

The real stuff is legalizing hard drugs, prostitution, assisted suicide and many other things that are none of the governments' business.

I seem to remember that they're some sort of degenerate entertainment ensemble for the mindless and depressed.

There is no way I can take this the least bit serious.

And for the record I wake up quite spry. :)

Shine on, you crazy diamond!

I still want to see a single state or country that will people grow their own weed without being subjected to laws that make it impossible to do so legally. I doubt it will happen anytime soon, but I live in hope.
Oregon you can grow two plants for personal use. And based on the size of the one I planted a few years ago, two should last a person at least six months if not selling or sharing.

Yes, but from what I've read, while you're technically allowed a couple of plants, you aren't allowed the amount of weed that even one of them would produce at harvest. It seems like the limit in most states is an ounce, but one harvest produces multiple ounces. And like you said, one would want to keep enough to be able to last, at least until the next harvest.

Not exactly. I lived in OR long ago and even then it was legal, and my son is like me and still lives there, so my info is accurate.... You cannot CARRY more than an ounce and even to carry that, you have to be an approved mmj user or provider. You can have the entirety of the two plants AT YOUR HOME, just don't take it all with you when you leave to go to work or visit friends.

Sounds good, though still not entirely clear to me. I guess I need to read into it some more. Cheers for the info :)

Basically the law says if you're using for recreational, keep it entirely at home. If you are an mmj user or provider, you have limited ability to carry for yourself or to whom you provide it.

For so many years we have discriminated against pot smokers while drinking our rum and coke. Is it comming to a end. NH just decriminialized it and OR is going to legalize it this November with all the polls saying it is going to pass with a strong majority. What are all the booze companies going to do? They are major funders of the anti legalization crowd because they know pot is a way better drug and it would cut into beer drinking. I think the two go well together but that is just me. It makes me so happy to see the moral crusaders and the law and order fascist lose on this issue. I guess they are going to have to find another moral outrage to fuel their fascism. Lets start with htpocricy. Last time I checked that was a sin too.
I just love hearing the rant of loose morals. ;)
