I wouldn't actually want a nuclear weapon though. If I had the money, I wouldn't mind a F-35, or LAV, or an EFV. Maybe an attack helicopter.

I also note that if civilian law enforcement agencies use "assault rifles" and submachine guns (they do) the governmental entity that supplies such weapons is estopped from saying such weapons are too dangerous for other civilians to even own

No, the NRA most definitely does not hold such a view. But some far-right wingers do. And as I said, I do not consider those people to be representative of conservatives as a whole because those people are crazy.
