Larry Flynt is at it again

Flynt is no doubt a total pig. I'm in no way saying he is anything but. I simply made a thread about a news story covering what he is up to. He did however say one thing that I thought was rather spot on when he was being grilled about his bounties on politicians:


They call me a bottom feeder, and it's true, but look what I found at the bottom..​

Ya? Offhand, I can't recall any major news stories broken by "Hustler".
 
It's an empty publicity stunt. The money Romney saved with his tax "strategy" is probably far more than the $1mil Flynt is offering.

Obama does one hell of a lot of preaching that he does not adhere to. I can see you want to center it around social conservatism, but there is more than one way to be holier than thou and at the center I find it to be saying things you dont practice personally. Agree to disagree /shrug

Larry Flynt is claiming credit for outing Sen. David Vitter's connection to the so-called D.C. Madam.

The Hustler magazine publisher said his staff called Vitter's office Monday, saying they knew his telephone number appeared on a list from Deborah Jeane Palfrey's escort service.​

And my point is, this has nothing to do with political points of view, I am a very leftist member of this forum, even though in my country I am a moderate center left voter.

This has to do with common decency, and in this case, the law. Tax documents are private property and it is not OK for people with money to promote breaking the law and the civil rights of Mitt Romney. Flynt might have been in his right to pay for dirty sex secrets from the so called moral preachers in the political field, that is usually not illegal.

But this is illegal and immoral. This has nothing to do with Flynt's pet 1st amendment campaign. This is to do with breaking and entering, illegal hacking and breaking (I would hope) all kinds of federal laws.

I am so happy to live in a country where the whole election process takes weeks rather than years. I know the US is a lot bigger, but with no first past the post/electoral college 1 party wins all system, the election could be halved or even more than halved. Sure our system has a lot of draw backs, but our political campaign started after the summer vacation and will only last 3 weeks or so. And 75 to 80% of voters will show up and vote.

And I know it is very important to go with how the founding fathers wanted the system to work, but that was when there were only 13 states, the number of people who were allowed to vote was a lot lower and it was a very different time. Maybe the US can come together and create a new electoral system. I think the US people are smart enough to make a system that will take a lot less time, costs a lot less money and is open to a lot more people. Maybe that will energize people to go an start voting again in big numbers. Just an idea, don't hate me for having an idea :)

What's interesting is that this hacker group just recently claimed to have stolen Romney's tax returns and was ransomoing them off for $1 million. I'm betting they are FOS and just trying to get money. This will show if they did or not. I'm betting not.

Romney should accept Flynt's offer, and have him make check out to charity, or his PAC... Oh, right, he can't do that, because it would cost him the election.

You mean that I have to actually show you how illegally accessing somone's confidential tax records, that are stored in government data bases would be a crime? Surely you jest!

If I have to show you how it would be illegal to access someone's private tax records without proper authority, then doing so woud be a gigantic waste of time.

your argument is just plain stupid. You known damn well its illegal to access such stuff. In the federal court system lawyers get sanctioned for filing documents that have the social security numbers or DOBs of witnesses or parties
