Kid Gets PS5 Instead Of A PC And Throws Fit, Guess How MAGAs Are Responding On Social Media?

More awesome still was the look on my teenage daughter's face when I told her this was a pretty advanced game out of the portable ones at the time.

My kids can't believe it when I tell them my horror stories of life before electronics and phones and stuff.

"And when it was snowing hard, I had to find a dime to call home...and if my mother was in the bathtub or down the street, the phone would ring and ring and nobody would pick up and finally I'd have to hang up and...WALK HOME..."

They just stare at me, white-faced and stricken.

Do you think that kid understands that he was doing something wrong?
If he didn't he has shitty parents. At a very early age I was taught to be appreciative of any gift given to me. Something as mundane as socks I was appreciative of. I had parents at one point who were not working for over a year (dad was laid off and mom got hurt at her job). I knew of kids who were getting chemotherapy and were fighting for their lives. While I wanted a Nintendo badly, I also understood at an early age that money doesn't grow on trees, and that there is true suffering in this world. My parents taught me that.

I wouldn't agree. Children aren't just small adults

Yeah this little boy probably knows about that too.

I'll forgive the child for not being Jesus.

Yes the burning of a woman to death by an illegal immigrant only days after the governor of New York told us the subways are safer.

Was a scientific survey done of how many approved, disapproved and what political leaning they have?
Seems like you approve more than anyone else I've ever seen on this board, seeing as how you clearly see it as an opportunity for political points.

It's almost like this kid was acting. At least that's my take on it.

I'm not sure why you think random comments on social media are worth its own thread or that it's indicative of anything.
From the poster who starts random threads based on social media posts…

😂😂😂😂

Congress has the power to block Trump from taking office, but lawmakers must act now

This is coming from the party that kept telling us they were the protectors of democracy from Trump. It's clear that the Democrats were really talking about themselves when they warned us about authoritarianism.

Ok, finally watched the video.

I’m going to blame the parents on this one.

There is no way that when a child that little asked for either a PC or a PS5 there wasn’t more conversation around the topic.

Why did the child want a PC/PS5? What did they want to do with it? Was there a particular game or some particular goal?

Seems to me that a parent only partially listened to their kid….heard “P” and jumped to the assumption it was a PS5 because that’s the popular game system this year.

Didn’t put much more thought into it than that 🤷‍♀️

My kid, for example, would want the PC and would have no use at all for a PS5, as he’s not interested in playing console based video games (or really games in general).

My kiddo would thanked me for trying but also have asked more nicely to return and exchange it.

Was the kiddo slightly bratty? Sure. But I’m going to also guess that he’s maybe 5-7 years old and completely overstimulated in a room full of gifts. So, I’m forgiving of that.

I’m less forgiving of the “are you serious” and attitude from who I presume is Mom.

IMHO, this should never have been a thread.

Stupid thread.

Next!

And yet it's one of the most active threads over the past 24 hrs.

Personally, I think it's fascinating that there are MAGAs defending the kid's reaction. Didn't expect it.

And why not? You don't think it's interesting how those defending the kid are almost all right wingers? You don't think that says something about their mindset and morals?

No 6 year old should be getting a PC.

Do you think that kid understands that he was doing something wrong? You don't have it out with the kid in the middle of unwrapping gifts was your feelings got hurt it's supposed to be the grown up. I'm so glad I had good parents. I got a Christmas present that was a substitution and I was mad at Santa when I was a kid and it was explained to me that maybe Santa got confused and maybe this is just as good or maybe even better and it wound up being making a scene to try and appease some sort of video and try and get people to say oh what a brat maybe you're just not understanding the kids.

Again maybe the kid is thinking Mom and Dad should be mad at Santa too. He is clearly too young for gaming PC.

He said 'return it'. Kid obviously doesn't believe it came from Santa. Probably doesn't believe in Santa at all. I know I didn't at his age.

Every kid is different 🤷‍♀️

My kiddo had his own laptop at age 5. Because it was Covid and he was doing ABC Mouse, etc school work during lockdown and I wasn’t giving him MY laptop to do it on, because often we’d sit side by side at the kitchen island and he’d be doing his thing while I was working or doing my own.

He’s 9 and just got a 3D printer for Christmas. And is currently figuring out BlocksCAD to design his own unique items to 3D print on that same laptop.

Some kids are really into technology and using technology not simply for mindless game playing 🤷‍♀️

(My son also has a Nintendo Switch and it sits collecting dust because he doesn’t like to play those type of video games at all)

I actually expected the MAGAs to criticize the child for acting this way. Nope! At least some of them are full-on endorsing this behavior! I suppose I shouldn't be surprised considering how their Dear Leader behaves.

If he doesn’t want the PS5, I’ll take it.
This isn’t political. He learned this behavior from his parents, they need to teach him better.

What makes you think those people are MAGA?

Anyway, you can't get "gaming PC", at least not one that's any good, for the price of a PS5.

If that kid were my son, I'd return the PS5. It's what the little snot wants, after all.
If you want to raise a selfish sociopath, then that’s exactly what you should do.
And you’ve just made it a little clearer why you are a Trump supporter.

PC means internet access. I don't believe in giving a 6 year old their own device with internet access, especially considering he likely wants to use the computer for gaming like Roblox where there are many creeps trying to contact children.

And that is fine. I think parents should try and provide gifts that will make their children happy. At the same time, I don't like this trend in society of excusing spoiled brat behavior. I think the parents share blame for his reaction/behavior to the gift he got. He likely wasn't properly taught how to be thankful for what he has.
