Kid Gets PS5 Instead Of A PC And Throws Fit, Guess How MAGAs Are Responding On Social Media?

If he doesn’t want the PS5, I’ll take it.
This isn’t political. He learned this behavior from his parents, they need to teach him better.

Everything is political. But I agree, the parents share blame for his behavior.

PC means internet access
Everything means internet access.

The proper thing is supervising and teaching kids about the internet, not denying access to it. 🤷‍♀️

He likely wasn't properly taught how to be thankful for what he has
I also blame the parents for not listening to what the kid ACTUALLY wanted.

Getting him a PS5 when he wanted a PC is like getting him a baseball when he wanted to play basketball. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think the kid actually reacted as poorly as some are accusing him. He said to return it. He didn’t act snotty. He didn’t throw a fit. He told them he asked for a PC, return it, and went on.

If the parents had listened to the kid in the first place, or likely been paying attention to their kid’s likes/dislikes - I don’t see how you mix up a PS5 and a PC

A PC gaming rig is way expensive and probably wasn’t in their budget. I personally don’t like PCs for gaming, I’m a console guy. I’d be happy as hell with that, but that’s not the point. The parents need to teach the kid about graciousness and humility.

Certain devices have more potential for abuse. A pedo is far more likely to contact a child on a PC than a PS5.

Never said completely deny access. However, if the kid has his very own pc this may complicate things when it comes to parental supervision. Parents can't just hang over a kid's shoulder every time they use a device.

I also blame the parents for not listening to what the kid ACTUALLY wanted.

Sure, if that is what happened. There could be numerous reasons why the parents could not or would not get the kid a PC: model he wanted was too expensive, concerns with privacy and security, figured he was still too young, etc etc.

I'm sure you didn't get everything you wanted for your Christmases as a kid. I sure as heck know I didn't.

Getting him a PS5 when he wanted a PC is like getting him a baseball when he wanted to play basketball. 🤷‍♀️

It depends. He may have wanted a PC because he wanted to play certain games. But a lot of the same games are playable on PS5, too. If he wanted a PC for other reasons that a PS5 is useless for then I'd understand putting more blame on the parents. But it wouldn't make sense to buy a PS5 if the kid said he wanted to learn to code or use Photoshop.

I don’t think the kid actually reacted as poorly as some are accusing him. He said to return it. He didn’t act snotty. He didn’t throw a fit. He told them he asked for a PC, return it, and went on.

He acted passive aggressively and inappropriately. That is certainly not behavior that should be excused as parents or a society.

And why not? You don't think it's interesting how those defending the kid are almost all right wingers? You don't think that says something about their mindset and morals?

Of course not. It is a fallacy to use a single example to conclude all are the same.

There is no control group to measure against either.

It is nothing more than an illustration of our poor educational system and tribal bonding.

I must reject all posts in this thread.

If you want to raise a selfish sociopath, then that’s exactly what you should do.
Really?

Making a child face the consequences of his actions turns him into a sociopath? I don't think so.

It didn't happen with my two sons.

And you’ve just made it a little clearer why you are a Trump supporter.
Yes. Holding a person responsible for their actions IS one of the reasons I'm a Trump supporter.

This is a thread discussing anecdotes. I provided at least 3, not 1. It was an observation I found interesting and, as usual, you're taking things way too seriously

I don’t see how teaching a child that if they cry and complain long and loud enough, they’ll get their way.
You know, like Donald Trump?

What are you talking about?

I'm not talking about letting that child have his way.

Oh...wait...you thought I was suggesting the parents return the PS5 and give him a PC? LOL!!

No. The PS5 gets returned and the kid DOESN'T get a PC.

THAT is the consequence of that child's actions.

You are correct. My apologies. It is the only way i know to be.

On the other hand, id have you laughing your ass off at the dinner table as I explain current events and things in the news.

I always felt i had a little Lenny Bruce in me.
I could take the stage with the NY Times otherwise unprepared and "translate" the stories.

Peace

I stand corrected on this one thing.

It's pretty messed up the parents posted that video knowing how it would come off to a lot of people. Yes, I've seen some brats in my time but I wouldn't want that to follow them.

imo, This is one family that has lost the true meaning of Christmas.

Big time. And the value of money, which is obviously missing, too. If this kid’s expectation was to get a PC and he has the attitude to give a thumbs down to an expensive PS5, then he needs some lessons on what it takes to afford such a gift.

This spoiled kid misses the boat in so many ways…

He said 'return it'. Kid obviously doesn't believe it came from Santa. Probably doesn't believe in Santa at all. I know I didn't at his age.
So everyone commenting on x has been the same amount of time dissecting this video you have I doubt it.
