I don’t know. But it seems to be a fetish with the reactionary right wing.

Despite the fact they know darn, or should by now, that her responsibility is looking at the long term solutions not handling the border crisis they see this as something to hang around her neck if she runs in 2024. It's nothing more than that. If they really want to nail someone for the mess down there they should be going after the Director of DHS, Alejandro Mayorkas and Biden not Harris......but in this instance, the border isn't what they are interested in, it's nailing Harris.

A lot of these people don’t really care about politics and don’t know the first thing about world affairs, or policy.

They listen to to right wing talk radio and read tabloid level hyper partisan blogs. All of them make their money by holding a mirror up to their audience so they can admire their prejudices. They also ramp up their fears and promote the idea that being ill informed is noble.

In their ill informed world view, bluster and pissing in the punchbowl is “diplomacy” and they applauded every one of Trump’s openly racist, jingoistic and stupid stunts.

In their world view, if Trump said it, it happened (Trump knew that quite well);

But, in direct contrast, in their world, anyone they’re told to hate fails is results don’t appear with the wave of a magic wand.

Despite having just 4% of the world's population, we accounted for 20% of the world's COVID deaths. Moreover, the United States is a country with a relatively low overall population density, so that should never have been the case.
