I just found DP, I have only read a few threads but liked the back and forth. I have an opinion on most everything. I often find I need to keep said opinion to myself because of my views on politics or religions. Most times I feel I am the smartest person in the room but on forums I am humbled by many. I hope to stick around and contribute to the "debate".

And to the op- welcome. If you like to disparage religion, you might want to be aware that the religion forum has certain limits wrt insulting and baiting. The philosophy section doesn't have those same restrictions.

Hidee ho new peep. I just recently became active again at DP and find most folks here to be much to my liking. All you need is a cup of strong coffee, a sense of humor, and maybe some body armor and you're good to go.

Not buying it. The internet is invariably the dumbest room available; one could go to kindergarten and find a better behaved and reasoned group of people.
