Judge targeted by Trump is assigned to Signalgate lawsuit

The lawsuit brought by left leaning watchdog group, American Oversight:
“This reported disclosure of sensitive military information in a Signal group chat that included a journalist is a five-alarm fire for government accountability and potentially a crime,” Chioma Chukwu, American Oversight’s interim executive director, said in a statement.

“War planning doesn’t belong in emoji-laden disappearing group chats. It belongs in secure facilities designed to safeguard national interests — something any responsible government official should have known. Our lawsuit seeks to ensure these federal records are preserved and recovered. The American people deserve answers and we won’t stop until we get them.”

The suit said it puts the officials “on notice” — and while it is not brought directly under the FRA, it points to a provision of the Administrative Procedures Act allowing (APA) for review of unlawful actions regarding records.

“The APA also authorizes the Court to entertain a claim that the head of the [agency] or the Archivist have breached their statutory obligations to take enforcement action to prevent an agency official from improperly destroying records or to recover records unlawfully removed from the agency,” the suit states.

This is good. Boasberg can now find all parties guilty and remove the entire Trump administration. This is the way the Constitution is supposed to work! If a district judge isn't allowed to dissolve the sitting administration then we simply don't have a democracy.
Given his decisions it actually is, since he's found in favor of Trump cases in the past and was the judge who ordered the release of Hillary Clinton's documents the FBI found, and he gave lenient punishments for the J6 rioters. Donnie Boy's rants and calling him a "radical judge" or whatever are just deflections because the message is always that anyone standing in his way needs to be demonized. That works fine for the Donnie Boy parrots, but less so for everyone else.

As is their right to do, and as conservative groups have done in the past for policies/actions they didn't like.

Remind us again when a reporter was added to any of these communications? Was there a Pentagon warning against using those apps back then? Apps like these should never be allowed for sensitive government communications, and the threat now is even greater than it was in the Obama years.

Jeffrey Goldberg is the desperate Democrats useful idiot.

Not really, since he isn't the one whose spinning his wheels trying to change the narrative.
🤭

The useful parroting of a laughable narrative by the administration is far more entertaining.

You should ignore her.

Also, while this seems like a good conversation to have, I'm not sure how using a different encrypted messaging software would have prevented the simple human error of adding the wrong "JG" to the group chat.

If there is something better out there, then use that. Maybe something that uses the whole name instead of initials.
Aren’t cabinet officials provided with government issued secure comms?

not relevant to ignoring the DOD directive not to use it in this case.

From this morning: The Democrats shit show

Wednesday, March 26

Gabbard, Ratcliffe and FBI Director Kash Patel are among officials appearing before the House Intelligence Committee to discuss global threats to the U.S. The hearing was scheduled before The Atlantic’s revelations.
“I used an appropriate channel to communicate sensitive information,” Ratcliffe said. “It was permissible to do so. I didn’t transfer any classified information.”

So now it’s “sensitive?” Yesterday it was something else. Today Gabbard’s memory is refreshed.

Again, there was no classified information shared in the chat and it's unfortunate for the country that a partisan Democrat political hack named Jeffrey Goldberg made a bigger deal out of this than necessary. I don't even see merit in the lawsuit.
It's frivolous to the nth degree! The Democrats once again prove why their approval numbers are historically lower than ever. Read your article. It said it was okay for chats where classified information is not shared.

You have a nice day. :)

Only a political hack would publish messages from a group chat they knew they didn't belong on.
He's the Democrats' biggest hero.

Hey, I'm with you. Cut congress out of the equation entirely, especially when the majority in the House and the Senate are the same as the White House. In such a case the ONLY branch of government we can rely on is the Judicial and they should have absolute, unfettered power. The LAST thing we need in a situation like this is a federal government that serves the people. We need a federal government that serves the government!
Trump is the one who is "cutting Congress out of the equation entirely" with his grab of the power of the purse.

Complain to trump and his minions. THEY are the ones who sent the group chat to an editor/reporter at an MSM.

THEY didn't take the time to check this sort of significant detail.....remember? Blame THEM.

The real problem for our nation's national security is how the hell a well-known anti-Trump political hack's name was added to a high-level government group chat. Who did this? Was this done during the Biden administration as an attempt to set Trump's people up? I put nothing past the slimy Democrats. Nothing.
