So tomorrow, we celebrate the survival of the Plymouth colony with a national holiday.
I won't celebrate it. I sincerely KNOW in my heart that the world would be a better place if the pilgrims had all died out that first winter.
That would have set the founding of America back. And given what America has done, that would have been a very good thing.
If the pilgrims hadn't survived that winter, they wouldn't have been able to commit genocide against millions of Native Americans. If they had died out, slavery wouldn't have been able to find a foothold in the new world.
No America means no war of expansion against Mexico. No America means no nuking of innocent Japanese civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. No America means no oppression of democracy movements in Latin America fighting against right wing dictatorships. No America means that socialism would have had a fighting chance to spread and change the world order for the better.
Join me tomorrow in boycotting Thanksgiving. We are NOT thankful that the pilgrims survived!
****ing worst troll ever.

I'm curious as to why you stay in a place that you hate so much. Without history having happened exactly as it did, I would not be here. I'm glad i'm here. I'm thankful that I was born in a place where I can be anything I want to be, as long as I'm willing to go for it. It must be sad to be in your head. Seriously.

I already rent an apartment here in New York city, and have a stable job. I can't just uproot my life. Besides, NYC is relatively sane compared to the rest of America.
Also, many countries which I admire, such as Sweden, the UK, and Japan have long wait times to become naturalized citizens. Might as well use that time towards fighting to improve my own country.

Don't you think it's odd that you admire a country that has a long waiting list to become a citizen? I bet you are the same kind of person that wants the US to put in a fast lane, but here you are admiring a country with a slow lane. Hell, the UK turns people away all the time. lol.
Sorry I will celebrate Thanksgiving with a big dinner of turkey and all the trimmings with my family.
This kind of crap is why I have to fend off constant "oh, you're a liberal or a socialist, you must hate America" nonsense. You know in your heart that the world would be better off without this country? Good for you. I know in my brain, where actual knowledge is, that America has done some pretty great things for the world. More great than it does wrong. The wrong is intolerable, but if you can't appreciate what is good about this country, then you're not thinking critically, you're just complaining from a place of ignorance.
I very much doubt that you have it in you to improve this country in any way.
Entirely off topic, but have you seen the trailer for the upcoming Peanuts film?
But there isn't systematic discrimination against people who don't speak English. I've been to London before, and the multiculturalism blows away even Chinatown or Washington Heights. And at least there is a hate speech law in England defending immigrants against blowhards such as Rush and Hannity.
