Vice President Joe Biden left some observers in and out of Washington aghast with his whisper-in-ear embrace of new Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter's wife Stephanie at Carter's swearing-in Tuesday. As Carter was delivering his first speech as Pentagon chief, Biden, standing in the background, put his arms on Stephanie Carter's shoulders and his face to her ear, apparently telling her something in what could reasonably be interpreted as an intimate embrace. A still image of the gesture shot around the social media world:

Biden's behavior at the Carter ceremony follows his hands-on performance at the swearing-in of new senators in January. The vice president's performance on that day brought comment from around the world, ranging from "Biden being Biden" to "handsy Joe" to "creepy."

I agree. The women look as if they’d rather be anyplace else. But let’s not call this sexual harassment, at least IMVHO. Judging by their looks, though, one has to wonder. Keep your freakin’ hands off me and stop invading my space!”

Ya’know, maybe a reasonable standard could be, “If you wouldn’t do it to a guy? Don’t be doin’ it to the ladies.” Not bad, actually.
 


The quote at the end of the video is just speculation... but regardless, how he acts is really creepy.... he reminds me exactly of this guy...
 
Some people are like that. I've had bosses that talk to you and stand practically face to face with you. They also have no boundaries when it comes to touching and personal contact. They are also fantastic at dealing with people and clients.

I can see why women would be creeped out but some people are like that and it usually makes them seem very personal to people.

No, it doesn’t. Not to many women. A two-handed handshake with direct eye contact and a smile makes it personal.

Well...most of the people that are gregarious like Biden that I know are doing very well...and a lot of it has to do with their high energy personable nature.

Not at all...but not everyone likes to be touched. It doesn't mean he's a creep though or that he's inappropriate. He's a gregarious guy and lots of successful people are. Most people look at it as a positive trait. It's not like he's grabbing them by the ***** or anything....
 
William Shakespeare wrote a pretty good play about this thread and topic... it was called MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

I guess the right wing is afraid of Biden in 2020 as they are trying to plant the usual seeds to destroy him at this early moment.

People are loosing their careers over what he's done. And they even tried going after Bush Sr, really? So don't try defending this because he's a Dem.

You’re wrong. It DOES mean he’s inappropriate. And your thinking otherwise is a symptom of the problem. It is most certainly not a positive trait to invade a woman’s space or touch her in a clandestine sort of way. Kind of like that quote about pornography. Hard to define. Easy to see.

People instinctively know creepiness. I wouldn't be surprised if we hear somewhere down the road Uncle Joe "Bite Me" let his hands wander where they don't belong.

I certainly wouldn't be comfortable with it, but I'm not that touchy of a person to begin with. There's only a few people that I comfortable with like that. But when it comes to the vast majority of people, no.

And especially not that close.

You are so wrong about pictures. If you posted some I would simply say they were photoshopped. ;)

Honestly, LOR, you don’t get it. But that doesn’t mean I’m not right. Try touching a woman and invading her space as is being done in most of those photos. Since I assume you are neither rich, powerful or famous, wear body armor or prepare to be embarrassed. ;)
