Joe Biden just can’t keep his mouth shut. OK, I know that’s not exactly breaking news. But at a time when Democrats are supposed to be focused on the November 2nd mid-terms and Barack Obama has not even announced he will seek a second term, did Biden really need to declare that he’ll be on the 2012 ticket?
Here he is shooting from the lip to the New York Times:
“I tell you what, there’s real trust, that’s why he’s asked me to run again,” Mr. Biden said Monday, dropping this tidbit at the end of a 40-minute conversation, just before he dashed off to his third fund-raiser of the day. “Look, he said, ‘We’re going to run together, are you going to run?’ I said, ‘Of course, you want me to run with you, I’m happy to run with you.’ ”
I loved, near the end of the NYT piece, Biden’s plaintive “I hope they think I’m smart” response when he was asked about what voters think about him. I’m sorry to break this to you, Joe, but…
Joe Biden blurts out that he will be Barack Obama's 2012 running mate – Telegraph Blogs
Dems have planned that Joe Biden would be the running mate. I think just about the only ones pushing the idea otherwise are far right wingers and a few in the media looking for something controversial to report on.
You be dead wrong compadre, unless you believe Bob Woodward, the guy who sparked the story is a Tea Partier, but we all know he is one of the left's idols. Not going to say he's stirring the pot, but I don't think he'd do it at that level. That had significant implications.

I mean I'm used to the right wing trying to fabricate a controversy during slow news days, but this takes the cake.
Hillary Clinton Is Sitting This One Out
Those rumors persist despite denials from Clinton and her staff, as well as the White House. Keeping the chatter alive are polls showing that the public sees Clinton more favorably than either Obama or Biden.
A recent Associated Press-GfK poll showed Clinton with a 62 percent favorable rating and a 36 percent unfavorable rating. Obama's numbers in a recent poll are 57 percent favorable and 42 percent unfavorable while Biden's, from last August, are 50 percent favorable versus 43 percent unfavorable.
When asked recently about the Biden swap scenario, she replied, "I have absolutely no interest and no reason for doing anything other than just dismissing these stories and moving on."
In other shocking news, the sun is going to set tonight and it will get dark outside.
Amazing what some people will grasp at isn't it? Just goes to show that maturity (and wisdom) and age are two completely uncorrelated issues.
In the words of Barack Obama, "Damn, just damn?"LOL... Thanks Joe. We love ya. Keep up the good work.
And just when Dems saw a little hope with the chatter about Hillary, out comes Joe to pop the balloons.

Are you calling Woodward immature and lacking wisdom?

While I do think this VP speculation is purely media hype, there are some Dems who would love to see Hillary on the ticket. I'd love to see her run against BO, but I doubt that will happen. *pout*

It would take a lot more than that to put his ego in check to a point where he wouldn't even run in 2012.Obama will not run after seeing the 11/02/10 election results. This was a loud and clear message to his anti-business, socialist platform that passed a health care bill that was never read and understood prior to ramming it down the throats of Americans. Bye-bye Nancy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
