The Post Office was a great idea when Ben Franklin came up with it. Same is true of heating homes with fire wood. Principles are the same today. Applications are no longer state of the art.

The Post Office is like anything else run by the government. Oversized, poorly run and too expensive.

In passing, the headcount of Post office employees in 2001 was 775,903. Reduction to 496,934 in 2019 represents a reduction in the labor force to 64% from the 2001 level.

They are using 64% of the workers to 53% of the work comparing both today levels to both 2001 levels.

It's likely that they are also using computers that have reduced work forces in EVERY OTHER BUSINESS IN THE COUNTRY due to efficiencies.
