AG Barr understands well that the FBI is dead as an agency ”undeserving of the nations trust” if it is commonly perceived to be a weapon for political vagaries rather than an impartial, objective enforcer of the rule of law so vital to the survival of democratic governance.

Comey has given new life to the concern that, for the first time in the FBI’s 100-plus years of history, partisan political operatives used the immense authority of the FBI to advance the political goals of one party at the expense of the other.

Comey’s claim that he and his team did everything “by the book” also should invite scrutiny. He is controversial precisely because so many of his actions were not by the book. Conducting any investigation - as Comey did - out of FBI headquarters, let alone the Director’s Office, is not by the book. It is so outside “the book” that current FBI Director Christopher Wray is implementing policy, according to reliable internal sources, that restores investigations exclusively to the field offices and prohibits headquarters - where the FBI most closely intersects with the flame of political D.C. - from ever conducting investigations again. Prudent, and good news for the country.

So Comey is the first easy target, and is likely to see the inside of a cell for “First Degree Murder of the FBI’s Reputation”.

So in the citizens justice system, all participants of the crime are charged equally. I’m not so sure how it works in the special justice system that applies to the elites. Will Comey throw Obama and Cheryl Mills under the bus?

He certainly caused some damage in announcing just ten days before an election that a frivolous investigation into a Democrat candidate was being renewed (after, what was it? SEVEN congressional investigations).

Are you sure he intentionally murdered the FBI's reputation by doing that?

Remember: the guy you pretend wanted to help Obama get Trump helped Trump get elected (just like the man allegedly framing Trump...didn't). Several point swing in the last week, thanks to his decision to announce.

While Comey did, indeed, do many things wrong and is not a trustworthy individual, the characterization that the FBI hasn't be used as a political tool is just a re-writing of history. No one has been taught about The Red Scare?

Yes, all that is correct.

I don't really care who gets investigated. Investigate Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer for all I care. IF they broke the law, the public should know. It was the right braying on about how investigations are illegal because they were so afraid their golden goose was gonna get shot.
